Mario Kart Wii Is So Skill Based!

I was just talking about this today with LEGO Racers. While most racing games operate on the concept of randomized power ups, LEGO Racers, while overpowered in the green brick department, still has with it a solid plan for a non-luck based power up systems. Between colored and white bricks, a racer would have to know the bricks and pick routes, adapting to the ones stolen and switched by other racers. There is no randomization, only skill. I would like to see such a concept applied again to a more modern and multiplayer capable game.

BEHOLD! My WIP LR track!

A topic for this has yet to be created on the MKW forum. But when I do make one, I'll be sure to link it.

I believe this has turned into a general MKW topic rather than a just disucssion on it being skill based. :P

The Ace Railgun

Mario Kart for any system is way too easy... I beat it on my DS in a couple of days... And I got bored of the Wii Version

I definately prefer the ones that aren't on handheld myself (although they are still okay). The Wii one... hmm, I myself prefer it when playing with a friend or sibling. Online... alright I guess, though you don't get to hear any reaction when you target someone. :P

That looks really good! But, why is it lagging on an emulator? If you have a good laptop, you could run it pretty smoothly, because of the limited graphics the wii can do. Just a asking.

I might have to buy the game just to play that mod, if you ever release it. Brilliantly done, although it's a shame the environment is a little out of scale with the characters.

@RRF#1: I'm using a desktop actually, and I've been finding it needs updates gaming wise. Though it ain't my computer to update.

@JJ: So you're saying I should scale it down a bit? Alright, I'll try that. (the original model was extremely tiny, the scale I'm currently using (in the video) is currently 4,000,000, so I have lots of room)

@Tahmira: I can do better on the actual Wii! (though I'm not yet pro pro due to not being a full time player)

Thanks for the feedback guys.

I like how this went from a topic making fun of Mario Kart Wii to showing off LEGO mods for it.

Exactly. :smug:

Thought I'd turn this into a general MKW topic. :P
