jg325
ok, i dont think anyone has had this before, i have no opening movie, it sits on the loading screen for 5 seconds, that goes away, it then leaves the computer at 640*800, i look in task manager and the program isn't open, but the exe and the icd are in processes, wtf is going on. addendum, roughly 30 sec to a minute after the loading screen goes away and just shows the desktop, it quits, no error message or anything Ok, for anybody who may encounter this problem, the solution is to run it with everything in the compatability tab set to off
s0d3rb3rg
Hmmm... What OS do you have? Have you tried compability mode? Running as administrator? Oh, and welcome!

McJobless
ok, now it crashesh at the first tutorial, which thread has the fix for that? When did it crash, specifically? Half-way through loading? Before loading? Also, did you install any mods?
jg325
i clicked the tutorial and the game window closed and said it had stopped working in that error message window., nope no mods just base game, also on its a hold up it closed after about 10-12 minute in with no error message hell i even got LEGO creator knights kingdom running WHAT Honestly, if you can get that horribly broken game running but not LRR, I'm beyond confused now. dont ask me how it just runs, oddly enough even from the LEGO creator harry potter disk...... i think rockraiders is just a better design and therefor needs more work. there is a file _ISDel.exe on the disk, is this something i need to run? McJobless
i clicked the tutorial and the game window closed and said it had stopped working in that error message window., nope no mods just base game, also on its a hold up it closed after about 10-12 minute in with no error message Try this: I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, and I run LRR with the following settings: Shortcut parameters: -best -programmer -fvf -debug -debugcomplete -testlevels Compatibility: Windows 2000 256 colors Programmer allows you to skip the intro movies by pressing any key, so you might want to try that. You can ignore the last three parameters since -testlevels unlocks all levels and the debug ones probably don't do anything anyways. Another thing I can suggest is not using the Enhanced shortcut. Try the Standard one since that adds -reduceframes -reduceflics -reduceimages which may help you once you can get past the movies. Otherwise, I don't know if I can help any more than that since every time I install LRR on a Win7 computer it just works. Another question; when it crashed with the error message, did it say "LegoRR.exe" or "LegoRR.icd"?
jg325
it was icd but i cant use that fix, i had to run it with no compatability settings to fix the first issue the movies are not the problem, with the tutorial i clicked the level, and the game just closed after maybe 3 seconds, the hold up close was right after a tnt charge went off
Cirevam
Oh, the dynamite crash. Use this: http://oresome.rockraidersunited.com/download/355 But you said it crashed right after it exploded, so the extended dynamite might not work. It helped people when their game crashed during the countdown, so it's worth a shot.
McJobless
the hold up close was right after a tnt charge went off That is very familiar. Try: Ok, lets try something different Gisp. It's a long shot, but if it works you'll be laughing. Some game crashes are caused by texture memory, this game has a limited amount and when it is used up, it crashes. To do this you'll need the WAD Tool as you have to make a change to LEGO.cfg in the LegoRR1.wad file. Also make sure you backup your WAD file first. This topic covers it: http://www.rockraide...162-memory-mod/ After you make the change remember to rebuild you WAD file with the WAD Tool. The other possibility is that the crash may have something to do with sound... which I can't really help you with. You could possibly disable the line to the sound file... Also, another question; What graphics card do you have? LegoRR doesn't like the newer ATi Raedon cards...

McJobless
i dont have a graphics card, i have a dell optiplex 4 series chipset *gulp* I dunno if you can work with onboard graphics...I need your full list of specs. Open "Run". Type in "dxdiag" and press enter. Select "Save All Information", and save it to the desktop. Open the file you just saved, and then "Select All" and "Copy". In RRU, put your mouse over the "More" button, and then "Pastebin" Select "Add Paste" Paste what you just copied, and then give it a title and select "Paste It!" On the next page, there should be some BBCode. Select one and post it in a reply here.

McJobless
Alright, I've looked at both of them. Everything looks normal. Try this: I've experienced this glitch on one of my laptops. I managed to stop it by doing the following: Play around with CLGlen.exe's options, and, if that doesn't work, try out this: Point of focus being the selected device. Cirevam
You click the option you want then start the game. Always make sure that you're opening the executable and not a shortcut so you can choose that option.
