Ok i am working on an overhaul mod, but i am going to need some help with models animations pathing etc cause im new at this and want to finish before i graduate, is anybody willing to help?

I could help you with small things here and there, when I'm not working on my own overhaul. But first, are you sure you're capable of making this? Like what are you thinking of doing?

Basicly last night i just randomly sat down and wrote a crappy fan fic, but then i decided it might make a good story, so basicly i have most the concept work done, and i will do work, i just need help from people who know this better for certian parts

You need to explain the following things before anyone'll help you:

  • The concept/theme(s) of your overhaul
  • What you plan to change in your overhaul
  • How many people do you need, and what do they need to do
  • Expected release date

Get that, and maybe you'll get some people to help.

ok, the mod takes place around 15 years after the end of the first game, planet u is being heavily mined because the life forms on the planet generate energy crystals ore and power, the mod follows a team of 9 that is assigned to shaft 2, with the richest ammount of materials, and the most hostiles. i am going to need the skills of a modeler/ animator for the new vehicles buildings and foes, im going to need somebody to help with enemy pathing and mapmaking, and somebody who thinks they can make unit types that are not in the ame already. i am planing on adding in rockwhales, a type of super monster, vehicles that can carry rock raiders besides the driver, vehicles that can act as resourse drop points to transfer alot at once, modifying the dock so that once the ustation is up it can upgrade water vehicles, an new matterial like ore studs for energy crystals, new mobile buildings that start out as vehicles, can be deployed anywhere (no powerpath requirements) then undeploy and move. new upgrades like for the lasers to make htem better against monsters, the ability for lasers to shoot monsters by themselves like a rockraider with a beam, a building that can only be built against recharge seams but removes the need to recharge crystals, and i plan to have extermely large maps, have seams and drilling leave more resources, have monsters and whales when killed leave behind resources, have whales eat ore, have an upgrade for the electric fence to repel slimy slug. have the player start with 9 rockraiders with specific names, skills, and loadouts, have them not start with a tool store, and have a few boss battle type missions.

Since I don't want to quote your blarg I am going to edit it to proper English so you can learn something and my brain doesn't have to grind.

I am going to need the skills of:

* A modeler/animator for the new vehicles, buildings and foes.

* Somebody to help with enemy pathing and map making

* Somebody who thinks they can make new unit types

So it's a community mod. :/

And now to debunk your existance:

I am planing on adding in:

1. Vehicles that can carry Rock Raiders besides the driver

2. Vehicles that can act as resourse drop points to transfer a lot at once

1. This is not possible. Vehicles can only carry one Rock Raider.

2. I'm not actually sure what you mean by this.

3. Sorry, but the Docks would always be able to upgrade. You can't base upgrades and abilities on dependancies. You can make a water upgrade station dependant on the UpTower, but not an ability.

4. We've had this discussion far too much. New materials cannot be added.

5. This is also impossible. Mobile buildings can only be created by mounting a building on a vehicle, which not only leaves a power path, but also means you can never create a mobile version of that building during the game, unless you know how to make a building walk over to a vehicle.

6. No. Cannons and Lasers are manual-only. Full stop.

7. Buildings cannot be built against recharge seams or recharge Energy Crystals.

8. The amount of materials a seam puts off (4) cannot be changed.

9. Impossible.

10. Monsters can only eat ECs.

11. Fences can't be upgraded.

12. You can't start with skills.

13. This is possible, I just want to say it's not easy to set up.

tl;dr you're dreaming way too far past the limits of this game. Sorry.

Before making any large-scale mod you should understand the limitations of LRR. Let me number the ways in which your overhaul idea is wrong:

1) vehicles that can carry rock raiders besides the driver

2) vehicles that can act as resourse drop points to transfer alot at once

3) modifying the dock so that once the ustation is up it can upgrade water vehicles

4) an new matterial like ore studs for energy crystals

5) new mobile buildings that start out as vehicles, can be deployed anywhere (no powerpath requirements) then undeploy and move

6) the ability for lasers to shoot monsters by themselves like a rockraider with a beam

7) a building that can only be built against recharge seams but removes the need to recharge crystals, and i plan to have extermely large maps

8) have monsters and whales when killed leave behind resources

9) have whales eat ore

10) have an upgrade for the electric fence to repel slimy slug

11) have the player start with 9 rockraiders with specific... loadouts

1) This is impossible because multiple raiders cannot enter the same vehicle and raiders are generally never treated as resources. Raiders are also not mounted to nulls on vehicles, so this can't happen anyways.

2) You can do this with mobile buildings, but this leads into #5.

3) You should be able to make the dock upgrade water vehicles, but I don't think you can make it wait for an Upgrade Station. The dependencies don't work like that.

4) Impossible due to hard code.

5) Mobile buildings are buildings mounted onto vehicles. They can only be created through the OL file. You cannot make more during gameplay.

6) From my research, I've come to the conclusion that there's no way to give vehicle and building lasers any sort of autonomy. They don't work without very specific conditions, and one of those is the Tracker parameter, which tells the game to aim the laser at the mouse cursor.

7) Impossible due to hard code.

8) Impossible due to having no way to define how many materials are created when a monster dies.

9) I'm pretty sure it's impossible to have monsters eat ore.

10) Electric Fences are objects, not buildings. They can't be upgraded.

11) We cannot specify the tool loadouts for raiders. We can supply OSF files which are basically save files for upgraded Rock Raiders.

Honestly, I don't know why this recent trend of new people wanting to make overhauls came about. The three serious overhauls that are either in progress or are finished are made by people who know what they're doing since they've been around since early in old RRU's life.
