Graesholt
Hey I'm about halfway through the game (just found it in a pile the other day and thought "why not?") The problem is that I have not seen a Cutscene yet, even though I am, as stated, halfway through. It showed the intro but nothing since, and I find this very odd. I am running the game on windows 7, and otherwise it actually runs quite nicely. It has just occured to me this minute that this issue could have something to do with me running the game in windowed mode (I am using method 2 described on this thread http://www.rockraide...p__596#entry596). I must admit that I don't remember if I was running the game in fullscreen or windowed when it showed the intro... Can anybody confirm that this is causing the problem, or does anybody have an idea what else it might be? Thank you :D
Lair
It showed the intro but nothing since, If it showed nothing, I could blame Windows 7 and help. But this is...what
Graesholt
I'm not sure what you mean... Was it a question? I which case; could you rephrase it, and I would be most delighted to answer :D
Sonic322
I think he is running it is standard mode. Doesn't that keep the cut scenes from playing? Can you hear any sound from the game?
Graesholt
I can indeed hear very much sound from the game, yes. I am of the understanding that I'm running the game in advanced mode, but I will check as soon as I can.
Addictgamer
Is the game's disk inserted while you're playing? If not, you'll need to either insert it or copy the cutscene avis off the disk and into the avis folder in /data

Lair
Â Yes. Are you saying you see Intro.avi and then nothing more, or ONLY the DDI logo?
Graesholt
I've had quite some trouble with posting on this thread for a while now, so this is just a quick test to see if I am able to reply now. Okay, so I don't get this... I keep getting a message saying "post_too_short", even though I've posted way shorter stuff in the past.

Graesholt
Sidebar? I'm sorry to behave as an imbecile, but could you please elaborate on the whereabouts of this notice?
Cyrem
When you go to the main forum page, the sidebar is that strip where all the 'latest posts, files, blogs' etc is on the right.
Graesholt
Hmm... This does not seem to have done the trick. As far as I can tell, the game still doesn't play the movies. No intro, no cutscenes, no nothing. Does anybody know a specific action that will start a movie, as that would make this a lot easier to check. I am, of course, able to open the files manually, but the game can't seem to work with them. Also, Was I supposed to copy all the content from the AVI folder on the disk to the AVI folder on my PC? So far I've only copied the movies, as I thought them to be the only things I needed.

You don't have the codec to play AVI files on your I am, of course, able to open the files manually what. Ok, I don't know then. Run your game in compatibility mode for Win98. That will surely fix it. Always does for me.
McJobless
Yo, dude, what program do you play the files with? If it's VLC, then you have codec issues.
Graesholt
I will try as soon as possible to play the game in compatibility mode for Win98, and I will be back with the result. I do indeed use VLC to play the files manually, and Windows Media PLayer seems to hate my guts when I try. Would downloading a codec, like DivX, fix it then? McJobless
I do indeed use VLC to play the files manually, and Windows Media PLayer seems to hate my guts when I try. See, here's your problem. VLC doesn't use the native installed Windows codecs; it has its own architecture to rely on. Lair should be able to supply you with the codec. Graesholt
Running the game in compatibility mode for Win98 actually fixes the problem, and the game shows the movies correctly (checked by starting the game and seeing the lego logo assemble, in addition to the intro). However this renders me, despite my efforts, unable to play the game in windowed mode. And so, I have concluded that fixing this with a codec would be preferable. So Extreme110, do you have a downoad link or a more precise name for the codec? Googling "lair" proved... Ineffective...
McJobless
Googling "lair" proved... Ineffective... I meant Lair as in the member...I dunno where you'd get the codec from.
Graesholt
I'm really sorry to be so very inexperienced and keep wasting everyone's time, but I just have to be sure; "Lair" is a user on this forum, and I should PM him about this problem, asking whether he could supply a codec that'd fix it, yes? Again, thanks for bearing with me, I appreciate it.

Sonic322
You should look up k-lite codec pack. They have a whole entire program filled with codecs for video and audio and the program allows windows media player to support all the file types they have that is doesn't normally. I recommend downloading the mega pack because it has every codec you could need. I am not sure if it has the codecs LRR needs but it's worth a shot. The K-Lite pack caused various issues involving random crashes and bluescreens, several of my programs not loading and Sony Vegas wouldn't export my videos properly on the several systems I installed it on. I always saw it more like a virus that you could uninstall than a series of codecs that did anything useful.

I keep it updated and it hasn't ever caused me any problems. Its one of the few things that allows my computer to support the large amount of media files it wouldn't me able to use outside of the browser. Perhaps you got yours from a torrent site or you software settings are make your computer unstable.
