Hi!

I am Olivus Prime, and I'm ridiculously glad that I found this site!

I've been into LEGO video games (and at a stretch LEGO) since LEGO Racers came out in good ol' 1999. I'm still a pretty big Racers fan, and I enjoy playing Rock Raiders every now and then too (I took it into school recently on my laptop and my friends were all over it!).

Though Racers is likely my favourite LEGO game (please don't mention TT Games around me... though LEGO Battles was good), Rocket Racers, the ride at LEGOLAND Windsor, was my favourite entry in the series, especially when it was reopened in 2009, until it closed recently in October 2011 :( It shall be sorely missed.

Anyway, I hope that I'll actually learn something about modding here, and I know that it's great to be in a community of equally enthusiastic LEGO fans!

Looks like we'll be getting along juuuust fine. :D Welcome!

Also, where's your avatar from? Never seen that particular rendering of Rocket before.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. The render of Rocket is actually from the Rocket Racers queueline - they had portraits of each of the 7 champions along one of the walls. It was pure awesomeness, so I decided to take photos of each. I'm currently touching them up one at a time, but if you want to see more, please say!

Well, I';m the same way. I used to like the bricks a lot when I was little, but now I'm more into the Video Games. As for since LR1 came out, that is a no. I did not get LR1 until a few months ago.

WARNING! TT Games Talk! :P

I actually like the TT games to a point. My first LEGO games were actually TT games. Namely, LSWII, LSW:TCS, LIJ1, LEGO Batman, all for DS. (I only owned LSWII for a week though, so I don't remember much of it. All those are gone now, but I do own LIJ1 (again, but for Wii this time), and LIJ2 for PC. I really like LIJ2, especially the new world hub. I don't understand why it was so hated. Everyone was complaining about the gameplay getting old, so they mixed it up. And by doing that, everyone complained even more. I do agree that it's time for a different game (LR3 anyone? xD), and that is happening (LEGO City Stories), but the gameplay will stay that way until they can make some games that don't follow a movie/book. I just heard that a Indiana Jones 5 is being written, so I'm sure LEGO will do a game on that (not sure how), and there are still a few more HP books/movies to go before they finish that line of games. Oh, and did you know that a Lord of the Rings line will be coming out in 2012? I'm thinking there will be a game (or 2, or 3) on that as well.

Well, if you want to mod LR1, the easiest thing for a beginner to do is mod the music! I wrote the book on this, and you can read it here! http://www.rockraidersunited.org/topic/3095-tutorial-how-to-create-custom-music-in-lego-racers-1/

As for LRR, no idea. I don't own that game.

Again, welcome to RRU!

Yeah' date=' by all means, post it! :D [/quote']

I've got plenty of pics and behind-the-scenes info on Rocket Racers, so perhaps I'll open another thread on that.

Thanks for the welcome, le717. I think you may have misinterpreted my comment on my LEGO interest - what I meant was that I vaguely enjoyed playing with LEGO every now and then before LR came out, and when it did, it fueled my imagination and drove me to start a long time interest in the brand and its history.

As for the TT Games, I think I dislike them for the same reasons as many other people - I felt they are just reusing the same basic game over and over again, without much innovation. I just find it depressing to think that, in the time that it took LEGO Media to rise and fall, TT have only made one LEGO game with an alternative style of gameplay. I enjoyed them up to LEGO Batman or LEGO Indiana Jones, but from there I just wasn't interested.

They're making LOTR sets? AAARGH!
