lazarus238
I have been following the site for a while and I am still having problems getting Rock Raiders working on my computer. When i launch the game from the exe file I get the small loading screen. It then goes to a black screen while the Lego intro plays, it then freezes my computer. I have the d3drm file in the game folder and I am using an original disk. Any help would be appreciated. My computer stats are Hp p6654y AMD Athlon II X4 630 ATI Radeon 5670 Windows 7 64 bit 8 gig of Ram
Cirevam
Try running it in compatibility mode for Windows 98 or 2000. Just right-click the shortcut or executable, go to the Compatibility tab, and choose what you want.

Cyrem
3 things you could try. 1. Run in windowed mode, there is a topic around to do that... give it a search. 2. Turn off playing of the AVI's in Lego.cfg... this way it will skip to the game load. 3. Perhaps your codec is corrupt or something? If you have a look at the AVI files on the disc, try to play them in Media Player... if they don't play you need to re-install the codec(which can be found in the resources section of this site's downloads)

VLC has its own codecs as part of the program; it doesn't use the one installed in the Windows Mainframe. Please try to play them with Windows Movie Player. As for modding, read this guide: http://www.rockraidersunited.org/tutorials/article/19-beginners-guide-to-modding-rock-raiders/
Cyrem
no 8-bit resolution support available The game uses 16bit, your computer doesn't support 16bit colour?
joellucas
If your computer doesn't support 16bit color then right click on you desktop and click on screen resolution then click on advanced settings after it loads up click on monitor then change 8bit (or whatever your computer bits are) to 16bit then click on OK or apply. lazarus238
Running in window mode did not solve the problem, the game exe file shows that it is not responding in windows task manager. I found the cfg file and trying the edit path now.

lazarus238
Alright I have the WADs extracted and I found the Lego.cfg file now where are the parts I need to trim. I think you should try this. right click on you desktop and click on screen resolution then click on advanced settings after it loads up click on monitor then change 8bit (or whatever your computer bits are) to 16bit then click on OK or apply. I did that already and it did nothing different as it refused to load in a windowed mode instead of a full screen mode.
Cirevam
Have you added -window to the shortcut properties? I can't remember if you need to do that or not.

lazarus238
Sorry about the delay, real life got in the way. My solution to this problem was that I had a corrupted Install for AMD drivers and after I did a full reinstall and followed karsten advice and shut off Catalyst AI, Rock Raiders is now running smoothly on my computer now.
