ASA
So, I've just created this account, cause I saw one of the mods say he would give his .exe out to those with issues who had the game. So.... I'm doing this real quick. I've been having a ton of issues trying to get this to run on my comp. It's an Apple laptop with a bootcamped Vista trying to run a Windows 95/98 game. Why did I think this wasn't going to be an issue other than the silly d3drm.dll ( I had encountered that with my other laptop, though it was a Dell and it was fine.) Be expecting an application for one of those award thingies. I guess they really do make forums for everything.........
McJobless
This has to be the weirdest welcome I've ever read. Erm, hello? Enjoy your stay? Hopefully that mod gives you what you want?
Fluffy Cupcake
Hia, welcome to RRU. Your sure a mod said that? Cause distributing the .exe would be illegal.
The Brigadier
Hia, welcome to RRU. Your sure a mod said that? Cause distributing the .exe would be illegal. Yes, it would. It would be highly unlikely that a mod would say that. Hmm... Oh yeah, and welcome to RRU.
Redacted
welcome to rru! and rockraiders is just not anything, it is 'the thing'
TheDoctor
"A mod" doesn't help. Can't you give us a name? Redistributing the exe is illegal, and we know this, so I'm confused.
Fluffy Cupcake
Just a though.. this better not be someone trolling.
Cyrem
Could have been me, I think I said somewhere to a guy who I knew owned the game that I would give him mine to test to see if his was at fault. If I own it and he owns it, it's pretty much the same as trading CD's.. which isn't illegal, at least in my country.
Sonic322
Hello and welcome to RRU. Anyone else find it really hard to believe that this guys setup will be able the run Rock Raiders even if he gets an .EXE? I mean: Apple laptop > bootcamped Vista > Windows 95/98 game. I mean he could try the XP version but he would have to buy it unless the .EXE is the only thing that makes a difference.
ASA
Oh. Wow. I wasn't expecting that big of a welcome so that's why it was so weird. And yes, I do believe it was you Cyrem. Like I do have the CD, and I actually took the picture of it, but I found the award system had been disabled. Like, here's where I'm at. I have a bootcamped Vista SP1 on a Macbook (Not pro, just macbook). I was so excited to find my cd, luckily not very much effort in looking for it. I remember installing it on my Dell with no issues (except the d3drm.dll, but that was an easy fix). Now when I try to play it it bounces between "Please insert correct CD-Rom" and my drive constantly spinning up like it's trying to run it, only to have it spin back down as if it found nothing to where it's going past the initial splash of the Lego Rock raiders, but as it seems to start going into the video, it just stops and says "LegoRR.icd has stopped working, Windows searching online for solutions...." And never finds any. Oh, and the reason why I thought those files might help is because I read around that if the .icd is greater than 700 kb, then it's copy protected. Mine is greater than 700 kb. I have been constantly looking for ways of fixing this, and I truly doubt it's going to be an issue with bootcamp. And I just reread my initial post... I don't believe I had said anything new here. Meh......If anyone has an idea of a post that might help me out, that'd be great. I looked, saw a post to look at the post dealing with issues with .icd not working, but I couldn't find that initial post. A link would be great if you can supply me one.
