Rule 34 is a manifestation of Freudian psychology, specifically a part of Freudian psychology that we could do without. See the trope for "Freud was right". I think that if we could get over our instincts, then the world would be a much better place. (Here I am talking like Dr. Breen...) However, I don't believe that we can truly expunge our instincts from ourselves, thus that better world would be impossible.
