Fluffy Cupcake
So I imported the gamedata.gtc of LR2 into audacity. In it I heard all the usuall sfx, but when I reached about half way through, I started hearing things like a police siren, water splashes, and other unsed sfx which are not in the game. It would be interesting to know what a few of these sfx might be used for. Edit: Cleaned out static and uploaded the file here.
le717
You... imported the .gtc into Audacity? 0_0 What settings did you use? And how would Audacity even pick that up? And what came over you to import into Audacity? *goes and tries this right now*
Fluffy Cupcake
I just imported raw data and used the default settings when importing. Warning: A lot of fizz and whatnot noise is mixed into all of it, and the speed is fast (though I did already cut most of the bad stuff out for myself which reduced it to about 8:30). I just wanted to hear all the sfx from the game so I imported it. Though I can't seem to get the sounds to the right pitch/speed. :/
le717
Ok. I just did that same thing before I saw this, and I just got squealing. Didn't check it out though. my bro is on that computer, and that is the only turned on computer it is on. Oh. Before I imported it via Raw, I just dragged it in and it imported it via ffmpeg. I ran the .gtc through ffmpeg and it found nothing. But if the raw ffmpeg found nothing, how did ffmpeg for Audacity find something? I will say that I got almost the same thing as importing via raw, expect it was only a few seconds.
Fluffy Cupcake
Settings when I imported are Encoding: Signed 16 bit PCM Byte Order: Big-endian Channels: 1 Start Offset: 0 Amount to import: 100% Sample rate: 44100 22050 for proper sfx Skip to 3:04 for first Sfx Going by my cleaned out file that I provided in the OP. Was the sounds from 3:54 - 4:09 anywhere? Just asking cause maybe I had my game music volume over their sounds when playing or something. Some unused stuff starting at 5:00 (mixed with a few used at the beginning). Some more start at 8:00 till the end.
Cirevam
I ripped all of the sounds out into individual files using WinRipper. I haven't listened to them yet but if they sound fine then I'll put them somewhere for people to use.
le717
Perhaps someone can move this to the LR2 section? It would be easier to find there.
Fluffy Cupcake
I posted it here originally because this wasn't related to modding (research), and seeing as there was only a modding (research) section for LR2, I decided to post it here. But now that there is a LR2 section is classic LEGO games, I guess it could use a move to there. I saw your post linking to this topic saying it would help, I never expected that. :o
Fluffy Cupcake
I ripped all of the sounds out into individual files using WinRipper. I haven't listened to them yet but if they sound fine then I'll put them somewhere for people to use. So um, how did it go? I presume you've forgotten about it by now. Cirevam
I listened to them and they were all garbled. I'm guessing they were ripped but not decompressed or something.
Fluffy Cupcake
Yeah, WinRipper doesn't do a good job of extracting sound from the GTC apparently.
