I was just wondering, has anyone else ever played/still owns the original Age of Empires game? It's just that it's an awesome game, and I was wondering if anyone else on RRU still had it. :P I know I do. :af:

Not sure if I've seen a disk of the original lying around the house, I'm going to have to check. The 2nd and 3rd I know for sure around the house though.

I have never seen gameplay of the first, also meaning I haven't played it.

What. Please supply some info on what this is?

A real-time strategy game released for Windows and Mac in 1997. You control civilisations, research technologies, advance through the ages, have battles and defeat their enemies. That's just a short summary though. Remember, Google is your friend. ;P

I have the Gold Edition with the expansion pack. :af:

It's ridiculously addictive as well.

Yep, back then it was my whole family favourite game. I still have my Age Of Empires I & II discs (including the expansions)

Still rmb the bazooka car, nuke & laser trooper. Back then I loved to cheat

I also hated the enemies' priests, it's not nice to see your own bazooka car coming back to tear your town apart

That's why you get a second bazooka car. ;P

Best cheat ever is hoyohoyo. 600 HP Priests? GET IN! :D :af:

Don't forget the cheats to make your catapults throw villagers or sheeps as projectile. That is pure lol!

Jack Be Nimble? Awesome cheat.

Although, 'convert this!' I don't see the point of. You get a priest with 300 ATK who has to have pin-point accuracy just to harm a target. That and he's slow, and easy to kill. >_>

Cheating in life, lol.

;P

I wouldn't mind getting the bazooka car in real life. Not for the bazooka, for the car. :P

Anyways, does anyone want to set up a multiplayer? PM me if you have time. :af:

It seems that everyone is biased towards AOE2. I can't really comment; I only own the original. :P

AOEII is the best of them all. I have a lot of great memories playing it. I didn't like the age that AOEIII covered and I didn't like all the complexities that were added, they just were not necessary

This.

I also love how nostalgic the AOEII graphics are. They are the best 2D graphics I've ever seen in a game - I love them, and I wish many more games had graphics on par to AOEII.

Additionally, the AOEII scenario editor is superior to AOEIII's.
