le717
I have been wanting to run NFS:U2 in 720p for a while, but you cannot do that from the options menu. Before we got a new GPU, the best resolution I could record in was 1024x768 with about medium effects. I haven't tested since, but currently I can record in those same settings in a solid 30 FPS. Because of that (and because I would like to play/record in 16:9 and not have the monitor stretch it into 16:9), I want to run it in 720p. I can run and record LR2 in that, and I could do LU the same way. And LU was more demanding than NFS:2 is. So can anyone who has the game fish out the exe parameters? I see what looks to be in in HxD (width=%u, height=%u), but typing those in and adding 1280 and 720 didn't work.
McJobless
NFS has never allowed you to set your own custom resolution from outside the game (I've checked the parameters myself). You need to download a hook which allows you to customise your resolution. See if you can find a custom resolution patcher, maybe from a guy called Squizzy. SORRY FOR THE DOUBLE POST! There's an app on this website. Download it, run it, select NFS Underground 2 and play with the settings. Enjoy. http://widescreengamingforum.com/
le717
You didn't double post extreme... As for that site, it would happen that after I saw your responce I went looking for a program, and I came across that same site and the same program, and I download it right before I came back over here and saw your "double post". 0_0 EDIT: Oh, and it only works on a cracked exe. How nice. And it doesn't work on the exe from the disc, I just tried. Cracked exe files are illegal. I'm not a pirate, and I don't want to use a cracked exe from the internet. Bummer. And I was going to make an ISO of the disc so I could play too. :( Edited February 18, 2012 by le717
McJobless
Well, I don't want to pull up the discussion here, but I don't think that no-cds themselves are illegal. If it uses a patching application to modify the .exe, then it should be all fine. Anyways, I have no other solutions because I can't play without lag if it's anything higher than 1024x768. le717
I'm not to be start a fight either, but, no, I don't think the no-cds themselves are illegal, it's just putting them on the internet for download that is. I wonder what a no-cd patcher is, and where I could find one. I would feel better doing it myself then downloading one from somewhere.

Making a no-cd takes a lot of knowledge about Hex/Binary and how SafeDisc/Securom/EA DRM actually work.
le717
Alright. That's fine. Maybe one day I'll bite the bullet and find a no-cd somewhere. This topic can now be locked, Staff. ;)
