Swap Disc A Ps2 With Gt4 Or Nascar?

*Wow, I've been asking about a lot of things today, haven't I? :P*

____________________________________________

I recently acquired a PS2 along with Gran Turmiso 4 and Nascar Chase for the Cup 2005. Well, the PS2 is a piece of junk (The controllers are broken, and the PS2 itself is in bad shape), but I really want to play GT4. Yet because of the shape of the PS2, I'm not going to buy anything for it. Instead, I am trying to emulate it.

The only problem is that I have to have the PS2's BIOS to emulate. And this thing has never been opened, so it's not modded in any way. And since it's a piece of junk, I'm not going to hunt down a mod chip. I am going to soft-mod it instead.

I found links on how to soft-mod it (http://www.1emulatio...showtopic=28441), as well as how to open the disc drive (http://forums.afterd...view.cfm/288331), and I know where to find the tool to dump the BIOS. The problem is, neither GT4 nor Nascar have .elf files on them.

My question is, how can I dump the BIOS of this PS2 since these games don't have .elf files? Is there some way to mod the files to add the hacking file? As I said, I'm not going to buy anything, and the nearest GameStop/EA Games is 45 minutes away, and I'm not really allowed to go there, and it costs money to rent games, and I don't know anyone who has a PS2 so I can borrow a game to soft-mod.

Yes, I've looked at downloading BIOS files, but all you'll find is the very first PS2 files, and it's recommended not to use those.

Pictures (to show that I do own them):

I don't have a pic of Nascar, sorry.

I'm not sure what you are attempting to do here. Do you want to do disc swapping so you can play backups on the PS2 without a modchip? Or are you trying to emulate the PS2 on your computer?

EDIT: Just re-read, you're trying to emulate. You can find BIOS's of the PS2 on the net to use with emulators. Obviously I'm not going to supply links to these, but a simple search will turn up results.

Yup. I found the BIOS for this PS2, but it only has one file. I need all the files (that rom1, rom2, and that other one I can't remember the name of). The thing is, you'll find them, but for the first PS2 (the SCPH-10000). I need them for the SCPH-39001, and I'm not able to find them anywhere.

EDIT: Yup. I just looked, and I can't find them anywhere. All I get is the main file, and I need the rom1, rom2, and erom for the SCPH-39001. Unless those files never changed from the SCPH-10000. If they didn't, I can find those perfectly.

If you want to emulate your PS2, get PCSX2. Possibly the best emulator for any console ever made. You have all the BIOS files needed. If you need more help in PS2 emulation, PM me, because I work with my emulator all the time.

Well then, I'll be PM'ing you later. I just tried it, and GT4 stopped at the copyright screen, and didn't get past it.

PS2 emulation requires high/v-high system specs.

the PS2 itself is in bad shape

What are you talking about? It looks fine to me.

It does look a bit ding'd up... one of the controller ports don't look to good.

If you had bought a ps2 slim, you can either get the proper parts or shove some paper in it so you can do a swap disc without the machine reseting.

Expect for the fact that I didn't buy this. It was found at Dad's work, and we took it home (It was in a closet and had mold on it. They didn't even know it was there.)
