Seamonster Posted March 13, 2012 Share Posted March 13, 2012 (edited) Hey, sorry for not having been so active on the site, i just took a brake and forgot the site, but i have thought that i should probably start a new fan fiction witch is tied in with my rock raider fan fiction, its about the insectoids, and if some of you are wondering if the space pirates from my RRO idea are connected with the insectoids or was inspired by them, then i can just tell you that they where in fact originally the military forces of the insectoids. If you are wondering how and why they are now no longer their military any longer? then you will get your answer in "the Insectoids" And if any of you have questions then just ask. and if you have ideas, then please tell me. Edit: you know, after having read about the Insectoids on brickipedia, i have changed the fan fiction, being that its about the Zotaxians that did not flee the planet from the cruel leader witch is going to be having a bigger role here, and i am going to change the Zotaxians from being cyborg minifigurs, like what brickipedia says they are, and make them more like the name of the theme says, insects. meaning that they will be more like intelligent insect instead from being the friking Borg from star trek. and yes i know that they dosent look like the borg, but be with me here. oh and i have thought about maybe adding the aliens from the U.F.O theme in this, as maybe just a cameo, refrens or a small role. I have now come with the idea of the cruel leader, or "king" of the Zotaxians. he is from a three headed insect/snake/alien hybrid that was the most feared and dangerous species on Zotax (witch logically is the planets name, please correct me if i am wrong.) his species was however brought down by a group of rebels, and his entire species was exiled from the planet, leading to Croutrofh, (the leader of his kind and former king of Zotax). And here it goes again... Yeah, it's very possible that the Zotaxians and Rock Raiders were going to be enemies (Insectoids are the vehicles, not the aliens themselves), for reasons I'll explain below, but it's hardly proven. The rumor was started when somebody on Lugnet thought he saw Zotaxians in some Rock Raiders concept art (which, if you look at the art, don't really look much like Zotaxians). Then it got blown out of scale and people started saying that, without a doubt, they WERE Zotaxians, meaning that Rock Raiders and Zotaxians must have been enemies at some point in the theme's development. But it's not proven, and never has been, Karl said he isn't aware of them ever being connected at all, I might add. But, there are a lot of similar elements that go for the case as well: Both themes revolve around a faction getting stranded on an alien planet, Both themes involve green crystals (though, Energy Crystals are natural resources, Energy Orbs/Voltstones are artificial batteries which collect energy from the planet's core), Both themes were released around the same era, Both themes have enemies that are native to the planet which try to attack the heroes, Both planets are like onions, with many layers and biomes. So it's not confirmed that the two themes were split early in development, and the original reasoning for the theory is bogus, but there are many similar elements. So it's not proven, but not unlikely. If it were proven that they were originally intended to be one theme, it wouldn't surprise me. I had also planned on the Zotaxians being more inset-like, but again, never got that far... It'll be interesting to see what you do with it.
