TrussROBLOX
Alright, I know this was already in another topic and I posted this in the Boss Race topic, but I just need some help here. So what happens is that when I try to make a mod, it works fine for the LEGO media thing and the intro, but then it crashes. It says, I/O error occurred GImages File not found. As I read from the other topic, le717 said that GImages was already in MENUDATA and hes right. Anyway you can help with this?
le717
*sigh* I thought I wrote that up where anyone could figure it out, but it seems I didn't. What you are doing is trying to run your 2001 copy of LR1 without a .JAM file. Only the 1999 copy can be run without a JAM (as was determined in that topic). To active a mod in a 2001 copy, you will need to recompress your modded files into a JAM file. You use JMMB's JAM Extractor to do that. If you're not afraid of command lines, use the Python extractor. If you really need a GUI, get the Adobe Air version (the portable one will run without installing anything else.) The Air is slower than the Python, but it gets the job done. Now I more to add to my FAQ. *sigh again* TrussROBLOX
TrussROBLOX
Actually, I did build my files into a .JAM file, I put it in the Lego Racers folder and tested it, and it still didn't work. What i'm trying to say is that I already built the jam with the AIR version and put it in the place the original jam was, and it didn't work. Oh, and with Python, I seriously do not get it. What i'm trying to say is that I already built the jam with the AIR version and put it in the place the original jam was, and it didn't work. If you have modified something in the .jam perhaps something have gone wrong and therefore it won't work. You'll have to tell what you have done in order for anyone to help you. Oh, and with Python, I seriously do not get it. If you mean that you don't get the python version of the extractor, I can help you: The python version takes command line parameters or arguments(I don't know exactly what they are called.) That means that you will have to right click on the file you want to extract, then click open with and then choose the extractor. This way the command line arguments are filled and the program knows which file it has to open. You could also drag the file you want to extract onto the .exe file, and the program will also know which file it should open. If you launch the program from a command line you could write the arguments after the path for the program, therefore it is called command line arguments(or parameters). EDIT: Oh, and don't right-click on the file on a location where you have to have administrator rights. Don't drag the file from such a location eather, if you do it won't work, unless you run the program as administrator of course. [End of edit] If you mean python, the language, I can't help you. I hope it was helpful! TrussROBLOX

Here's what I did from building the jam to the error GImages cannot be found. I extracted the jam into a folder named LEGO.JAM. Then I copied the Test Track files and put them into Rocket Racer Runs files, overwriting. I also skipped the overwriting. (like overwrite all without rapidly clicking ok when it asks.) Built the LEGO.JAM (named LEGO), loaded the game and the error occurred.
le717
I extracted the jam into a folder named LEGO.JAM... Built the LEGO.JAM (named LEGO), loaded the game and the error occurred. Well there's your problem! The game is trying to run from the folder called LEGO.JAM. You need to move the modded files to another folder (Modded Files). Rename your newly-built JAM to LEGO.JAM, and it will work. The Air version does not apply a file extension to the compressed files. When building, you will need to give it the filename LEGO.JAM to make it works. (This allows you to pull a prank on some one by creating a JAM and giving it a different file extension.) Just make sure your extracted files are in a different folder (or in a folder not named LEGO.JAM) before building a JAM, or you will get a "there is already a file or folder with this name" error. ;) TrussROBLOX

le717
You're welcome. But I said LEGO.JAM four times, so which one helped you? (Don't answer that. The question = /sarcasm.)

McJobless
O.T. Is anyone even working on LEGO RACERS anymore? What else are they going to do? Be social with friends at that place they call, "outside"? JrMasterModelBuilder
dead_name
O.T. Is anyone even working on LEGO RACERS anymore? Yes, I am. But I also have other, more important things to do. Such as university work. And attempting to maintain an active social life. Alcohol is fun :) McJobless
