Fluffy Cupcake
Yup, coming this fall, and it will have voice acting. It is by TT Games, so it will probably be using the same engine.. again. http://www.youtube.com/watch?&v=OSQI-Cu8g-c So, are you excited for this, or just meh? Post your thoughts and opinions. Sources, info, and whatnot. http://www.gameindus...tem.asp?id=4026 http://e3.gamespot.c...-hits-this-fall

le717
It's just meh. I'm not instrested in LoTR, even though we own all three movies, all three are extended versions, I just don't care for it. To me, the best part of the movies is the soundtrack. It's like Narnia, but a way lot better. I should try to buy the LoTR CD sometime. I'm personally more interested in Batman 2. I played the first one (on NDS), and I really liked it. I think Batman 2 is good! Mid-level saves (something that's been needed since day 1, but was needed more than ever in IJ2), Open-world ( ), Awesome soundtrack (Batman!), and, we can't forget, English voice acting. Batman 2, I would play, LoTR, not so much. I'm seeing a pettern here. TT Games does Batman 2, it gets english voices. TT Games does LoTR, it gets english voices. TT Games is starting to make games that their theme needs english to even understand the game. Would you understand LoTR in just grunts and mumbles? Not I, as I've never seen them. O.T. Oh great. Wasn't it last year that TT Games employees were confirming games, and this + Batman 2 was on that list? Now that means LEGO Shrek is going to be made. Ugh. Lair
Oh joy, MORE complete idiots yammering about how this is going to be the 2nd Lego game with voice acting, even though it's not. More nincombots gabbling spew about their lack of knowledge of anything before they were born. More half-pissed comments of utter stupidity. Oh, I am SO EXCITED. Fluffy Cupcake
I'll probably end up getting it. Mind you, I don't get all TTgames, only the ones that I'll probably be interested in playing.
McJobless
It's just another "crap I don't care about from E3 2012" game to add to the pile, right between Tomb Raider and every single motherf***ing sports game they try to unload on us.
Phoenyx
What happened to originality? I enjoyed Lord of the Rings, especially the books, but still...
RR Rocks
Are you flipping kidding me, LEGO? Try an original game for once. Also, why doesn't the trailer feature the "one does not simply walk into mordor" quote?
Cirevam
Try an original game for once. LEGO lost all originality when TT showed up. Coincidence? Besides, their games are driven by their sets most of the time so LEGO needs to focus on some original themes first. Maybe they can cancel this year's version of LEGO City Police State and make something new and refreshing, but without a gaudy colour scheme. le717
Segatendo' timestamp='1338855075' post='72868'] I'll probably end up getting it. Mind you, I don't get all TTgames, only the ones that I'll probably be interested in playing. I do the same thing. The last TT Game I bought was LEGO Indiana Jones 2. I was interested in it, and I got it. The new ones haven't cought mine eye, so I haven't bought them. LoTR does't get it, but as I've said, Batman 2 does. Meh.. more TT shovelware. That game engine worked for Lego Star Wars, but that was about it, and now it's just plain stagnant. You do understand this game is open-world, right? Sure, it'll have the missions like the older games, but we actually get to explore the game, instead of being stuck in a hub or level. The battles will take place IN the game, not in a level or hub. THAT's the main difference here. They started this with LIJ2, and I really like LIJ2's world hub. Sure, there are still levels, but it's not a college or cave or the like. It's more of a world. This, Batman 2, and City Undercover extends what was started in LIJ2 in a great way, and I'm personally excited about some of the new games. Days like this make me miss Lego Media. Hey, I miss LEGO Media too. But, it's not coming back anytime soon (unless LEGO dumps TT Games and finds someone else). We just have to play the old games and remind everyone that there were older games, and they were better than these, and that they should play them. @Lair Yes. I know that will happen. I'm sure it's already happening. But, we just have to do what I said above. It upsets me too. I remember when the first Star Wars game came out. People said that TT Games gave the LEGO video game series the reboot it needed. But as the years went on, everyone forgot that TT Games just rebooted, not created the LEGO video games, and now they think that there are a bunch of "firsts" for the LEGO games, when in fact they are more like fifths or sixths. I've yet to see ONE review of ANY new game where the reviewer mentions the old games. IGN, GameSpot, all these places, have forgotten the old ones. They all play new, gory, shoot-them-up games, and when a LEGO game comes out, they compare it to these gory games, and the LEGO one stands no chance. And as they've forgotten the old games, they don't know that are being one-sided. When LU was released, this was the biggest flaw, accroding to IGN: And that is LEGO Universe's biggest flaw; there is simply too little structured content. I estimate there is maybe fifteen hours worth of questing. As a one-off purchase, the length is fine, but this game comes with a subscription. Chances are most players will complete the quests in the game well before their complementary month of game time is up though, so what reason is there to subscribe? Ten dollars a month to maintain a virtual LEGO trophy room simply won't cut it for most players who are averse to paying a little more for the thousands of hours of content that other MMOs offer. Uh, it's an MMO, not a gory, buy a disc that has the complete game on it. If it offers little content, that's because it's a new game, and hasn't had a chance to get new content. This is the example of being one being one-sided toward the LEGO games, and the reviews of Batman 2 and LoTR will not doubt be the same. But we just need to keep reminding, keep telling, keep playing these old games, with hopes that everyone will remember them and not claim that things are not a "first" for LEGO games.
