GordonFreeman
Oh look. IT'S THIS TOPIC. OH LOOK, IT'S THIS DUDE. Halo is generic uninspired rubbish. It's just a milked franchise. Halo CE was fantastic, and remains a legend of gaming. Halo 2 as well. Yes, Microsoft is milking the franchise like a diseased cow, but show me what company isn't? Bungie was the best developer ever in the FPS world, and Halo was fantastic. Everyone knows that the new enemies will be the Forerunners, even though they died out. And the Bots try to kill you because your suit is contaminated with the flood. There was no evidence ever to say that they died out. It just states they were missing. Moreover, WRONG, WRONG, WRONG, WRONG. The Forerunners are the good guys, numbnuts, and the Sentinels kill you because they deem you a threat to the Forerunner installation. OBVIOUSLY, somebody couldn't get past the last level in Halo 3. Naww...how cute. The TV series will be base on Infinity, which, because it is apparently weaponless, will mean they will probably try to rip-off Star Trek. Actually, the entire Halo 1 experience was an absolute rip-off of Alien. And OH LOOK! Even though they made a peace treaty with the Cov, IT GETS BLOWN OFF FOR NO REASON. Oh, wait, there is a reason. Because they need to do less work on the game and just tone down the Cov's difficulty. ...what TV series? Halo is nothing like Alien. Unless you've kind of blurred your eyes and only played the flood's first level in Halo CE, you would know that Halo has no similarities to Alien at all. ...you're joking, right? When you kill Truth, that doesn't signal the end of the Covenant...that's like saying killing the President of America will signal the end of the USA. They elect a new leader and the scattered groups regroup and attack again. EDIT: I forgot something. You are the last "Spartan II". WHERE THE HECK DID THE OTHER ONES COME FROM IN HALO 4!? Don't even get me started on the plot. Learn the fiction before you talk. There are no other SPARTANs in Halo IV. The SPARTANs in Reach were A) IIIs, B) Before Master Chief and C) All killed. I give your post a 2/10. You tried, but my jimmies remain unrustled. Thanks for playing, go back to complaining about how Valve can't count to 3. Here's something you don't know. I read Glasslands. I have my own copy. One of Kilo-Five's crew is a Spartan II. Yes, I know about Spartan III's. And, no, the Spartans in Reach were NOT before MC. All (or most) Spartan II's were trained at the same time. The reason why you don't see MC in Reach until the end is because they were getting him out of there, thus starting Halo CE. Also, the Arbiter makes a peace treaty with the humans, and is almost assassinated because of this. Then some crazy explosion thing happens on the Elite homeworld. See, I did learn the fiction. And, obviously, you never found out about the TV show. Bungie being the best shooter dev is a matter of opinion. The guys behind Deus Ex (entire series) have done better, and Deus Ex 1 had been rated "Best game of all time" by numerous sources. Hell, I'm not even a quarter of the way through the first level and I agree. id Software did a better job than Bungie ever will. They created Quake, Doom, and the first first person shooter, Wolfenstein. Valve is even better. Tell me when you're gonna find hidden caves and little areas to explore that reveal a deeper story at hand in Halo. The Source engine, CREATED for FPS games, has been turned into gigantic amounts of new and unheard of gameplay. It's been used as a puzzle engine, surf (exclusively!) engine, TPS, RTS and many more. Epic does great as well. Bethesda is also great. There are a lot of companies better than Bungie. I don't think Halo is a complete disaster, it is decent, but the milking of it has turned it into a crazy mess. At least EA hasn't gotten hold of it. (*cough* BF = CoD. MoH = CoD. DS [Dead Space] =CoD) Also, Sentinels killed some of the Spartans because they had Flood splattered all over them. Some of them even called them "Reclaimers" (meaning they are meant to rebuild society, now why would they kill those!? Especially considering the Dyson spheres were made for multiple species.), and then opened fire. Forerunners are not good guys, in a sense. Apparently they waged a war with humans and then bombed "us" back to the stone age. Yes, they were good in the fact that they tried to make all species live on (see Dyson sphere ^/Glasslands). And, no, I'm not cranky that Valve "can't" count to three. They can, (Level 3 sentry in TF2 is proof) and I would rather them take their time on games and make them amazing rather than a Duke Nukem Forever. I rate your post 0/10, for lame fanboyism and lack of knowledge about what you are talking about.
Cirevam
I'm also not a fan on 2 weapon limits, but oh well. It makes no sense that a seven-foot-tall guy who was trained since he was six to twelve years old (depending on the project) and augmented to be strong enough to wear the armour he's using can't carry more than two weapons. It's one of the stupidest mechanics in Halo and I hate it because it makes no sense and it's not fun. And, obviously, you never found out about the TV show. I rate your post 0/10, for lame fanboyism and lack of knowledge about what you are talking about. Maybe you could provide proof that a TV series exists before acting like we're idiots for not knowing. I googled it and all I see is that it's a future thing, so it doesn't exist yet. Dial it down a notch, man, not everyone is obsessively searching the web about Halo news... but I'm surprised Extreme isn't. :P Lair, McJobless and Drill Master
Drill Master
Yes. please provide proof of this TV series of which you speak. As it says at the top of this topic, I am a halo fanatic, I keep up with the news and I've never heard anything of them making a TV series. Unless your talking about Halo Legends which ISN'T a series just a compilation of short stories created by different artists. I think I only saw it aired once on TV. Nishliau
I'm hyped for almost everything about it. The campaign looks different, multiplayer seems... Well, like Halo. And the Spartan Ops seems like an interesting way to do Firefight. Halo just has a great replay value. Custom games, Forge, etc.
McJobless
What did you guys think of the dubstep track in the new trailer? Obviously, not a part of the soundtrack, but I thought it was actually pretty good and I'd play multiplayer to that. Note that I'm the kind of guy who usually sticks to orchestral. Not a big dubbywalk fan here, however. It was decent.
STUDZ
Well there you have it. Rarely do another developer capture the same idea and perspective as the original developer. Microsoft is simply cashing in, prepare for disappointment. Reminds me of a certain Rare game...
Baz
It'd be interesting to see if they revitalize the franchise with this as I was honestly bored with Halo after #2. Also there's no official TV show as far as I know, though there was talk of Halo 4 being organized like one with episodic seasons. BF = CoD yeah no DS [Dead Space] =CoD lolwut? apple sauce = yogurt ? s0d3rb3rg and McJobless
yo dude
Is this thread still active? Since by now Halo 4 has been released already, hows everyone's opinion about there being no Forge-world to mess around in?
Cyrem
I hear it had a very short campaign, but I'm no fan of Halo... so I wouldn't know.
McJobless
Forge didn't really interest me after Halo 3. The problem is it's very limited in what it can do, and the maps (even Forge World) aren't very good environments to build in. Also, the budget system is very restricting, and I really feel they could have pushed it, regardless of the Xbox's relatively weak architecture. I occasionaly see people do cool stuff, but when I can use the HEK to make entirely new, cooler maps, on the PC, Forge just doesn't stack up. The campaign was alright, but it was no ODST or Halo 2. Those were the best Halo games IMO.
