IceHusky
Also, we should totally add Mass Effect. I mean we are comparing anything even remotely Sci-fi, right? Add in HalfLife 2 while we're at it, and maybe some Skyrim.
McJobless
No, that's like what you said. In case you didn't know, Vietnam didn't lose. So I guess Vietnam is LEGO here? Because as I said before, Halo was infected by megablocks. OH MY LIVING GOD. THAT WAS SARCASM. I MADE THE POINT AT THE BOTTOM. Halo is Vietnam because it's fiction has a lot less meat on it's bones, but ultimately the fanbase is stronger in resolve (or ammunition supplies) and it knows how to use jungle to it's advantage. McJobless
Another helpful post. I bought a Lightsaber today for my school graduation. Not as fun as a Gravity Hammer, but it'll do. Also, video unrelated.
Cyrem
Gravity Hammer I have one of those... it never fails to obey gravity. Almost forgot, here's another reason why Halo would not win.
Cirevam
ultimately [Halo's] fanbase is stronger in resolve (or ammunition supplies) and it knows how to use jungle to it's advantage. Stronger in resolve? What's that supposed to mean? In fact, why does that matter here? If you want to go with which franchise has a stronger fanbase, it's obviously Star Wars because it's been around for several decades and there are so many pop culture references to it it's insane. I don't see Halo given that kind of attention anywhere outside of Youtube or forums like ours. Come back when Halo starts to widely affect cultures, and not just the culture of racist 8-12 year old Xbox Live kids. Well Star Wars may have the upper hand, but it is slowly fading, where as Halo is still rockin.

The only people that still seem to care about HALO are little 7 year old kids who've apparently f***ed everybody's mom ever. Not many teens or adults I know care much for it. Zephyria
Not really. Its the same bland game over and over. Maybe with 343 at the helm, things might change, but I doubt that. Lair

McJobless
Yeah, that whole sentence was phrase EXTREMELY badly because I was sick and tired at the time. Sorry. I've had too much of a good day today to argue, but I must say that I see more people at my school into Halo than I do into Star Wars. Then again, that's not really helping the mature audience debate... noghiri and Lair
Drill Master
I have to say that I do agree with Cire and Zeph on 1 thing. The reason I don't play Halo on LIVE is because of the ignorant little asses that get on there and FSU. That being the only negative I have toward Halo. McJobless
To be fair, most of online fps gaming is ruined by these kids. I'd go into a massive rant about the psychological and physical factors involved, but there's no point. At least in a game like Tribes: Ascend with no mic support, you don't have to hear what they're saying. Lair
noghiri
Oooh, I love the Tribes series. The immature players who think it's COD tend to get a spinfuzor disk to the face... Great way to deal with the idiots. McJobless
McJobless
Indeed, and the skiing/jetpack combo is perfect once you acquire the skill for it. Only problem is you have to pay to play a custom server with your friends.
Drill Master
Back to the main topic, lets say 20 Covenant Assault Carriers, being 5,346m long, armed with heavy plasma cannons and the cleansing beam, order an attack on Coruscant. What do you do?
s0d3rb3rg
20 ships would be gone in seconds. Coruscant has like, thousands of ships.
noghiri
Hit them heavy with StealthXs coming in from out-system, and wait while the planetary shield and the four Golan Defense Platforms block the incoming fire. Then, as the StealthXs jam you while they throw the equivalent of an H-bomb's power in a package the size of a young human of about 6 Terran years, we fire Centerpoint Station's planetary-powered laser at you from a quarter of a galaxy away. This will shred your ships hulls. We use Vulture droids and other droid-based fighters to rush your fighter screens. We suffer heavy losses from these, but with the Star Forge churning out more, and another one under construction by our Ratakans, we don't care. Your fighters are gone, anyhow. Drill Master
Now, now, the Assault Carriers are the largest battle-ready ships in the covenant fleet, and are not easily taken out. Also, if one of them preforms the same move as in Halo 2, a Slipspace Jump Inside the atmosphere, it would destroy a majority of a city, like it did with New Mombasa. McJobless
I think it's fair to say the Covenant Attack Cruiser's speed will mean that, so long as a couple become decoys, a few will break into the atmosphere and start glassing the surface, hopefully starting with the Jedi Temple and the Senate District. That'll lead to both heavy losses and galactic destabilization, due to the lack of leadership. Of course, if the emperor is in control, that'll only shake the beehive, but it's still a major victory for us with the loss of the galactic mainframe. EDIT: Of course, that's just with 20 Covenant Assault Cruisers. If I was to expand the attacking force, I'd add a couple Battleships due to their HIGH amount of firepower (higher than Assault Cruisers), and a Reverence-Class Cruiser, due to it's MASSIVE length. I'd also assign two UNSC Carriers and a couple UNSC frigates exclusively for dealing with any ships coming from the Star Forge, Drill Master
Drill Master
I'll throw in the Dreadnought Forerunner Key Ship, just for the hell of it. It could be used as a transport ship as it once was used to repopulate worlds after the Halo Effect. Standing at a whopping 8.6 Miles tall, according to this size chart I have, It could carry many troops, supplies, vehicles, etc. into the battle.
