GordonFreeman
http://universe.lego...us/default.aspx "LEGO Universe has been shut down for good" First they remove the video, now THIS? Something isn't right. I mean, LU is probably never gonna come back. But they went to that extent of saying that LU is gone forever? I don't know how to put it, but this just doesn't make it feel like LU is gone, like there is still a small little spark of it left, somewhere. And given that they saved all our gear, ranks and stuff... EDIT: Strange, LU never had a little "shine" feature on the exit button before... Phoenyx
I never played LU, but I've seen stuff like this happen with all sorts of things. Take Elecbyte for example. In 2007, their website stated that the group had disbanded and that M.U.G.E.N. RC1 was canceled. However, in 2009 I heard rumors of a new version of M.U.G.E.N. designed to run natively on Windows (the previous versions were for Linux with unofficial direct ports for Windows). Turns out the rumors are true, and now there's a full stable release. I've also seen companies do this to attempt to kill interest. 9/10 times it fails, though. If it does fail, another group usually takes up the reigns either legally or otherwise.
Alcom Isst
I'm more concerned about how the Hall of Fame is still up. It's still there, mocking me... "You see all these properties, Alcom? Well we think they are better than yours." :/
Antillies
Didn't it get shut done 7 months ago? Delayed reaction?
Fluffy Cupcake
Didn't it get shut done 7 months ago? Delayed reaction? The game yes. But they had a video up talking about the game after closure. It's down now and replaced with the "LEGO Universe has been shut down for good" text. Not sure if the "check out these cool games" stuff was there before either. Baz
I'm pretty sure they're just trying to shove a little financial disaster under the carpet and hoping everyone forgets that it ever happened.

GordonFreeman
What my point is, it was just plain straight up, seemingly arrogant, "LEGO Universe has been closed for good". But why do it so arrogantly? Wouldn't a message like this be better? : "LEGO Universe has closed. The game will not be reopening" There are numerous other ones that would have pretty much well dispelled the rumors. But this just makes it seem more like it is, than not. I mean, just look at all the TT clones games. ... Was worth the money to me. LU was an amazing boost to my building abilities, and clever use of the client side model storage allowed me to keep all my property models, as well as the property models of any individual I wished. Phoenyx
LU ISN'T WORTH THE MONEY. WE'RE ALL CASH COWS AND COMPLETELY LOST OUR ORIGINAL VIEWS OF CREATIVITY. I mean, just look at all the TT clones games. That just proves that laziness pays off big in the short term. LU was a better long-term investment before it went F2P because of subscriptions. Even if the game wasn't reeling in millions on launch doesn't mean it wouldn't pay off. Just look at World of Warcraft. Blizzard was losing money on it until Leroy Jenkins came along and popularized the game. I'm sure that LU would have gotten its own Leroy if they gave it a chance. Still, according to most large companies, if something isn't making them money in the short term it's a failure. I never understood why they do that... My only theory is that they're greedy and impatient but then that would mean every company was like that, and from my observations in other industries (pipefitting is one I have a ton of experience with the business side of) that's not the case. Oboe Shoes
I gotta say. That Is an incredibly awkwardly worded message to leave on the site. I could understand a simple "LEGO Universe is no longer available, etc etc." But it's so blunt, it almost looks unprofessional. "Lol, its gone now. Check out this other crap, then go away." But yeah, I think most of us would just like to forget LU ever existed.

STUDZ
Leeroy Jenkins Man, I think I butchered that back in the day for my school. I even considered making a Leeroy remake for LEGO Universe, but alas... Never got the game.
