dutchman
While playing Rock Raiders, many questions rose ; 1. What is the use of upgrading vehicles, and what does it cost? 2. How to use lasers on buildings and vehicles? (once I got into the laser of the Chrome Crusher, and I spend at last 5 minutes to escape from it; the moment when the Chrome Crusher came into sight, after he had crossed half the map) 3. What is the use of the upgrade station? 4. In many missions you have to collect an amount of crystals to succeed. Is it useful to build up a small base, and teleport a small Digger (or so; I mean the smallest vehicle that can drill) to speed up the finding of crystals? 5. How long does it take to drill into Hard Rock with the same vehicle? 6. Is it more useful to blow up Hard rock causing avalanches and destroying all Rock Raiders and vehicles, or is it better to strenghten them? Cirevam
1) Depending on the vehicle, you can make it go faster, drill faster, carry more crystals and ore, and install a scanner. The costs are different between each vehicle, but scanners usually cost 5 ore and nothing costs more than 30, I think. 2) Click a unit once so the box around it is green. Click the unit again so the box turns red and you are now in laser control mode. Clicking the unit once more takes you out of laser control mode and the box will turn green again. 3) To upgrade vehicles like you mentioned in #1 4) I would say yes. Small Diggers are very useful since they move and drill faster than Rock Raiders. In most missions you will need to build a Support Station to supply oxygen and with that building you will be able to teleport the Small Digger, so you won't be going out of your way to get it. 5) An unmodified Small Digger takes 180 seconds (3 minutes) to drill through Hard Rock. With the drill upgrade it takes 150 seconds. 6) Dynamite does not cause landslides but reinforcing walls is usually a good idea. I usually only reinforce walls in levels where landslides happen a lot.
dutchman
I know dynamite does not cause landslides, but I prefer to blow up rock: You might find some crystals there. But it may happen that the person is destroyed by landlsides, and so this may happen some times. Or he's blown up because he got a landslide and could not run away on the rubble :rf:

Or he's blown up because he got a landslide and could not run away on the rubble If landslides happen frequently in an area, your best choice (sometimes your only choice) is to re-enforce the walls. You can drill or dynamite a wall after re-enforcing it.
Lair
1. I prefer to blow up rock: You might find some crystals there. 2. the person is destroyed by landlsides 3. he's blown up because he got a landslide and could not run away on the rubble 1. Dynamite is risky, it's best to stop using it and get a Chrome Crusher when you can. 2. Reinforce the walls to stop that. 3. Clear the rubble away then. Rock Raiders isn't a game you can speed through oh wait
dutchman
And what about building a second Support Station to improve the amount of air? Or does that not help?
TheDoctor
And what about building a second Support Station to improve the amount of air? Or does that not help? Each Support Station can support 10 raiders. Each one you build lets you teleport in another 10 raiders. I would also suggest you play the tutorial levels if you have more questions. dutchman
I do have played all tutorial levels. But I still wonder what to do with lasers. Destroying monsters? Alternative way of drilling?
TheDoctor
I do have played all tutorial levels. But I still wonder what to do with lasers. Destroying monsters? Alternative way of drilling? They're for whatever you want to do with them. Both of those ideas are very good ones. It's just a game. Do whatever you want to do.
Lair
Lasers are alternate ways of drilling, but they're terrible at it so it's better to use them as weaponry.
McJobless
Lasers are alternate ways of drilling, but they're terrible at it so it's better to use them as weaponry. Particularly with the Laser Drain Glitch. It was a wonder why the laser were never explained in the tutorial. I didn't learn till reading on this site that you could actually take control of a laser and fire with it.
