Look, Mr+Blender=Fail, but i can Fully use LDD (Lego Digical Designer) and am learning to use MLCad.

If i created a model (Not scripted or LUA encoded. Just there for display) could it be imported into Rock Raiders game engine?

I dont want 'its possible', i want a yes or no on weather MLcad or LDD can be exported into Rock Raiders. (Basicly, can LDD/MLcad save as an Lightwave file. Is it lightwave. Sorry, i forget)

And Shadow and Sonic, please dont start an conversation in the replys. It dont help.

Short answer: Yes.

Medium answer: Yes, but it takes a lot of conversion.

Long answer: You'd have to export it to a POV-Ray scene (built-in feature in MLCad) and then find a program that can convert from .pov to other 3D files. I found one once, but forgot what it was called. But if you send me the MLCad file, I'd probably somehow find a way to convert it.

Well to give you an advise: Creating the models using systems like LDD or MLCAD is not very good for modding RR. The Engine is far old and not capable of the Topology of the exportet Models.

I expect the exportet models to have around 3000 or 4000 Polys and I just did a test with an Pilot Dummy with 2 900 Polys and it crashed with an error message telling the engine is not able to allocate the memory for loading all models in memory.

So you might keep in mind that after you exported the models in the right format you still have to edit the Topology (if you are lazy you could use PolyTrans that does this reducting using complex algorithmens).

Cheers.

don't use LDD, it sucks. you are trying to manipulate objects in 3d using a 2d controller. in short VERY difficult to get the exact place you want it to be. trust me i have personal experience with LDD 1.0, LDD 2.0 and ml-cad. ml-cad is superior by far. Off topic : making the bridge of the LMS in ml-cad now, turning out good.
