lu9 Posted December 15, 2012 Share Posted December 15, 2012 In this whole time on the shoutbox I was asking Phoenyx how to do in dual boot so I can test windows 8 first. He said to me to make a partition, I am using EaseUS. And I did it, there is one unallocated space now. He said me to right click that part and hit "Create partition" but then... I need to reboot the computer after that? And then I install Windows 8 normally. But... here are 2 more questions so you get annoyed: 1. If I'm using dual boot, how do I alter from Windows 7 to 8 and vice versa? 2. Will Windows 8 have acess to the normal files in Windows 7 and vice versa (Windows 7 have acess to files downloaded/created in 8)? With multiple operating systems installed, the computer will bring up a boot loader menu asking you to chose which OS to use. Of course, some OSes use different bootloaders, so you may have to go through multiple menus. With Windows 7 and Windows 8, however, that's usually not a problem. 2. But to turn an Unallocated area to a Partition, I need to convert the driver which it was originated (C://) to Logical, but you can't convert C to Logical! So I may try disk management? By any chance did you make the unallocated space before C:? you mean, placing it before C? I don't know, I will try it EDIT: I tried moving before C: It still gives a message, on disk management (that is by default on windows) there is the unallocated space (I made with 30 GB, I know Phoenyx said me to use 15, but my computer is x64) Also for your information: there are 5 partitions on the only disk. here are them: SYSTEM (No letter) NORMAL DISK (C:) RECOVERY (D : [that damned smiley...]) HP_TOOLS (No letter) do you think I need to remove one of them?
