le717
While I was trying to make some custom audio earlier, rioforce (which is my brother, if you didn't know that already) was watching me work, and asked if it were possible to change player textures. So, I pointed him to JimbobJeffers's Skin Texturing tutorial, and downloaded the rips for him to change. Instructions Download the zip files, extract them, and copy all the files to your LR installation. They are laid out in their proper folder locations (I'm sure you know to extract/recompress the JAM and all that. ) Download rio has written a blog post about these new textures on his blog. However, I'll repost the stuff here. Download the textures Jungle Boy (Minifigures Series 7, replaces King Kahuka) Viking Lady (Minifigures Series 7, replaces Gypsy Moth) No image of Mermaid (Minifigures Series 9, replaces Veronica Voltage) because we don't have a full game save yet (well, I did, but I lost it). lol username
... Sourceforge just for texture mods? Uh oka- the textures are 1920x1920 I thought we had been through this before... Yes, we have. 512x512 looks high enough, even 1024x1024 is excessive. And some graphics cards don't even SUPPORT non-power of two textures. There is absolutely no reason whatsoever for making 1920x1920 textures. Why would you continue doing this? You're wasting memory and making it incompatible with some systems. As for the textures themselves, perhaps after some resizing they'd be alright, but the colors are a bit off (I noticed the scratch on the jungle boy's chest is the same color as his muscle markings, should be red like an actual cut, as with the real minifigure), and the lines seem a bit thick. The legs on the jungle boy also don't look much like the real minifigure. As for the viking lady, there's some weird gold edges around everything that just looks like weird pixel specks in-game and the expressions all look the same... It doesn't appear that the mermaid torso fits the UV map properly, either. A step up from Rio's previous texture work (hey, at least he's not tracing over LEGO Universe textures this time), but still needs improvement.
