Find the one unit that you can build effortlessly and cheaply that you're still good at microing. Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you: Upgraded Flash! wooo... I took out 2 comms on a DSDS game yesterday with not even a squad. (I.E. maybe 5 or 6) I did the same thing on 2 separate battles where I build up the eco for hovers, build 7 skimmers, surrounded a comm, and BABOOM szzzzweeoooooo My point is: successful micro instead of point and click spam gets you INFINITELY further than you'd think... 5 light hovers can even kill 3 destroyers when used properly >_> Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Addictgamer Posted February 20, 2010 Share Posted February 20, 2010 Micromanaging is the only way to play c&c. Spring - Just get a huge army and attack. If the enemy is doing that, THEN you have to micromanage. Also, spring is a great game for deceiving your enemies and tricking them into their own downfall... Thats where cloaking tiny bases and pretending they're massive comes handy. My favorite tactic is to send a spam force that is split up in a way to both do damage and draw their attention away from the actual attack. Another good one is getting units into their base ONLY to knock out their air defense so that huge fleets of bombers can devastate them. It's great to give yourself a priority in an attack ex: "Take out their kbot lab". Make sure to focus ALL of your unit's firing on one target. If the target's death is not so important, split your group in half. One half kills the target while the other half's target is to destroy anybody that tries to kill you. Remember to also focus all of their attacks on the same unit. Another very important tactic is to scout before you attack. This can also be used to trick the enemy into thinking you're about to attack, when, you aren't. Make good use of artillery in the game, and have them always back up your other ground units in attacking a base. For example: You have 5 artillery and 20 raiders. Hold the artillery back when you near their base and let the raiders go in. Move the artillery into range of a building and begin to shoot at it, make sure not to get in range of defenses. This is very effective since a carefully controlled siege of artillery and the main force can first put a dent into their base. And afterwards send the remaining defenders running through the country-side after a rogue artillery that is steadily eating their base. A secondary wave after such an attack leads to great results. NEVER attack with your full force. Always have 3 groups. Main - everyone who will attack. Secondary - It is always devastating to follow up your attack with a second wave of units. I.E: 1v1-3v3 on CCR 1v1-4v4 on SSB 2: Arty is Crud. Don't bother UNLESS! its taking out long ranged towers and you're too cheap to build some medium-heavy units. I.E: VS an HLT 3: REAL spring is NOT OMGSPAEMFLASH&STUMPYITWILLKILLBASE!!!!!!!1337!!!!!!11!!!!. Real spring is 1v1, 2v2 on Comet, 1v1 on Moon Q20x, Gyser Fields. There you need TACTICS. 4: As addict pointed out, You want to kill the intended target. HOWEVER!: That is rare. Mostly you want to kill as much as possible, WITH THE MAX EFFECT. I.E: Kill mexes, close solars, chain wind gens. If you can do enough damage, the enemy will stall while trying to rebuild. And that hurts. Saw something somewhere about posting system specs, so here goes: Processor: 2.0 GHz AMD Athlon X2 64 (or something like that for the name. ;). 4GB RAM 1GB Video RAM. (tl;dr: Good enough to play according to the recommended settings) Internet Connection: Enough to play Assassin's Creed 2 without it ****ing up on me...though apparently that's not saying much. Hopefully enough for this. Starcraft multiplayer never did work, but then that could be because my CD key was given to me by my uncle who probably used one of those CD Keygen things to get it. So we'll see how it goes I guess. oh wait that was for some kind of RRU tournament thing way back in not now. Oh well. Too lazy to delete it, so I'll just slash it and leave it there which probably takes more effort but I don't really care at this point. Also I kind of need to learn the game, so I might not be on the multiplayer scene right away. Time to read about ****, if there's documentation. Haven't looked. If not...then whatever. I'll figure it out. Nickname will be [RRU]Alexei403 or [RRU]ARandomKid. Haven't decided which I should go with, but I'll let you guys know (probably the first to make it easier on you guys).
