That's where i draw the line. I need your help. I have about enough of the restrictions and admin prompts and this and that....ENOUGH! I call upon the vast collective of knowledge within RRU to CRACK VISTA! Here is what i have tried... As a standard user, i don't have access to any of the .dll files that drive Parental Controls, namely wpcsvc.dll. I can read it in cmd, but not change anything. I can't end the service in Task Manager. I can't get around the "Prompt of death", the admin permission prompt. It locks focus to its self, so i can't even screenshot it. I can't get into my moms admin account to do anything. I cant activate vista's hidden ADMINISTRATOR acount. I cant give myself admin privileges. I cant make a new user with admin privileges. I also cant find the password hashes The only thing I haven't tried is safe mode. And the only way that would work is for the ADMINISTRATOR account to become active/visible, like in XP. Nothing works. Help me please. I even tried to ECHO wpcsvc.dll with cmd, whatever that would do... Batch files are unknown... I need some hackorz please. Open up Notepad, type @echo off del C:\(wherever the .dll you're trying to delete is) Save the file as anything.bat (remember to add the .bat extension and save as All Files) then double-click on the document. Note that deleting .dll files can screw up others, so you might want to make absolute sure that deleting it won't screw up your computer. Also, I'm pretty sure this will bypass the UAC since you can use it to delete System32. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Ask your mom Actually, no. Get an ubuntu CD, put it in, boot into a live session, and do the data editing from there. Then reboot and... TA-DAH! DrDeath Posted November 13, 2009 Share Posted November 13, 2009 i dont reccomend this if you dont know what your doing start the computer hit F8 when the first load bar comes up. this will take you into safemode. right click on my comp click manage. click services and application. find parantal controls disable the service. find UAC or look in discription for user account control disable it. i havnt tried this as non admin since i dont want more then one account on my comp it should work though i highly dont recommend deleting any .dll if you do there is a good chance vista will not boot do this at your own risk i take no resposibility for if you screw something up i recommed creating a restore point before you do do anything Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

But, like he said, don't do this if you have no idea what you're doing. It's like walking on a tight rope over a field of mines, one small slip and you're screwed. All you have to do is find out how to change parental controls in cmd. Then right click cmd, go down to "run as admin" and when the password comes up, all you need to do is persuade your parent/guardian to type in the admin password and you're in, please note, Everything you do is final. If you delete a file, it's gone forever, and it didn't just take a short trip to the recycle bin. Addictgamer Posted November 14, 2009 Share Posted November 14, 2009 I disabled uac somehow. No clue how. The pc i did that on doesn't always boot correctly though. So, not the best idea, but it proves that it is possible to disable uac without admin. I could do some studying...maybe find a 'cure' with exact directions. Sorry that i'm not confident, vista is a deadly topic. I recommend buying an xp disc, partitioning the hard drive, installing xp on the new partition, and accessing all the files on the vista partition. Effectively overriding uac the safe way. You could probably get one and slowly add to it over the years with external hard-drives and other good stuff, due to the fact that they have little memory, and have such small screens. Or you could by something off e-bay, just to fill your needs (LOL), but beware, E-bay has lots of scammers who will suck the money from your lifeless body if they have to.
