lol username
Hey, remember Hellbent Games? In 2009, they released LEGO Battles, a LEGO RTS game for the Nintendo DS that not only broke out of TT's LEGO game format, but heavily featured classic LEGO themes like Islanders and Ninja. It really felt like a classic LEGO game, and I had a lot of fun with it. In 2011, Hellbent Games released a sequel, LEGO Battles: Ninjago. While I did see some people just write off the game as LEGO Battles with Ninjago characters, when I actually playing it, I was pleasantly surprised. Not only were there plenty of additional LEGO characters and units included along with the titular Ninjago theme, but the gameplay had also been reworked, with some light RPG elements added into the mix, as well excellent animated cutscenes and more story presented through the levels. After thoroughly enjoying their first two LEGO titles, I was hopeful that Hellbent Games would create a third LEGO game. So what has Hellbent Games been up to for the past two years? They've been working on a video game based on LEGO Friends, for the Nintendo DS and 3DS, set for release this autumn. ... Well... Darn. Oh gee, this sounds familiar. I suppose I can't complain about this game not appealing to me, as it's simply not meant to appeal to anything close to my demographic. Still, I can't help but feel somewhat disappointed. Here's some screenshots: More screenshots here. Jimbob
Well, I can say that this is the perfect game for my little sister who's been looking for something like this for the past couple of months. So I guess I should be the first here to thank them on her behalf.

PeabodySam
A LEGO Friends videogame is coming out? Ridiculous. It already came out. Fourteen years ago. Yes, I do realize that this LEGO Friends game shares only the title with the current LEGO Friends theme and is instead based very loosely on LEGO Scala. However, one can only hope that, this time around, LEGO's attempt to appeal to the girl demographic produces something that is actually, you know, a videogame and not the rejected The Legends of Zelda: The Sitcom of Friendsville that was originally planned for Phillips CD-i. eagleeyedan, Car CrazeXVI, Fush and 1 other
Ben24x7
Uh Oh... I am no Friends fan but they'd better do a good job of it. The original game (the previous one which Lair probably didn't like) was completely human (apart from the loss of nose) and absolutely no Lego (not one brick) was in it. Zephyria
Is it bad that this might actually slightly interest me? The Artwork and style seems cute enough to hold my attention. And it basically looks like Mysims: Lego Edition

And it basically looks like Mysims: Lego Edition ... sorry, it's just... I typically think of you as somebody into more adult oriented games with more serious/darker theming, and you listen to heavy metal music and... waaaaaat <_> I'm not saying you can't enjoy it if you do... The Ace Railgun
This game...my rection when I was watching Lair's LP was why is there Fuit punch coming out of my ears (oh wait...that's blood...) I mean the graphics aren't absolutely horrible, I've seen worse, but the acting just made me want to kill it with fire. I mean I guess it's fine because it's meant to be appealing to a younger age group but if they were trying to stand up with Assassins creed or Bioshock then I would say this went down the drain... Lair
This game...my rection when I was watching Lair's LP was why is there Fuit punch coming out of my ears (oh wait...that's blood...)The PC game was some cheap sell-out with graphics and voice work comparable to Link: The Faces of Evil and its friends. This is an actual LEGO game from an actual LEGO theme, and that alone makes it a hundred times better (does this mean I have to rename my LP to say "(PC)" in the title?) I mean I guess it's fine because it's meant to be appealing to a younger age group but if they were trying to stand up with Assassins creed or Bioshock then I would say this went down the drain...I'm pretty sure no LEGO games have ever tried to compete with games like that. LimeKiller
I'm pretty sure no LEGO games have ever tried to compete with games like that. All Lego City Undercover needed was some blood and swearing and it would have been in direct competition with GTA...

I'm just surprised. Actually you'd be surprised, James. Yeah most of my favorite games are down-to-earth gritty serious games, but I like to let loose sometimes with light-hearted funfests, at times. Just look at my DS and GBA game collection. Or Bastion.
Fush
*flips everything in the room* (does this mean I have to rename my LP to say "(PC)" in the title?)Hell no. When the new game comes out, people will begin looking it up online, and your videos will get much more exposure, inadvertently. This is a lucky break for you.All Lego City Undercover needed was some blood and swearing and it would have been in direct competition with GTA...What. Being in direct competition with GTA would be a bad thing. Said lack of mature content makes the game accessible to a much larger audience, namely those who are not allowed to and/or do not wish to play 'mature' games. This is a lucky break for you.but if this game has the exact same title and it's on 3DS and it's different then I should specify in my LP title that this is the old PC game and not the new 3DS game even if it's obvious right?
