Ben24x7 Posted May 23, 2013 Share Posted May 23, 2013 Yeah yeah, I know what you are all going to say: 'We already have Rock raiders for the PC and the PS1. So why do you want to make another one?' This game will be a video game or an MMOG (whichever is easier to create) based mostly around Rock raiders. Here are some ideas I already have: You play as the default RR (these guys: http://www.rockraidersunited.org/wiki/index.php?title=Rock_Raider) or you can play as any of the six Rock raider characters (Docs, Jet, Axel... etc (you cannot pick Cheif because he is the one who gives you missions)). Simple enemies and bosses are from the Power Miners theme. I have many ideas for boss fights that I might as well spill them out here: Simple enemies: Power Miner, Stone Chopper, Mine Mech, Rock raiders Rock monster Ice biome mini bosses: Stone Chopper and Mine Mech Ice biome boss: Stone Chopper and Mine Mech combination (I cannot seem to find the building instructions though) Rock biome mini bosses: Thunder Driller and Granite Grinder Rock biome boss: Thunder Driller and Granite Grinder combination Lava biome mini bosses: Claw Digger and Crystal Sweeper Lava biome boss: Claw Digger and Crystal Sweeper combination Final boss: The Crystal king (1) because the transparent parts (including energy crystals) are the same colour of RR crystals and 2) What better way to end a game with a giant Rock monster!?!) If this game ends up as an MMOG then players would be able to customise their Rock raider. If the player is playing as a default Rock raider then they could get uniforms from the original RR characters (the uniforms allow the RR's to do certain things). This is different. It will hopefully be 3D not 2D. When did he say it was going to be 2D? It's officially 2D. And I am not creating it in GameMaker at all. Do you have any experience in making games at all? How will you get around LEGO's licensing rules? Do you have a timeframe? How many people are working on the project aside from yourself? Please don't create an ideas thread without evidence that you've actually been working on the project. Eventually I, and everybody else, just get tired of it. WHO flipped the forums may I ask?!? Progress (finally): I thought I might as well start from scratch so that is all I have for my minifigure model so far (I will not use HJMmediastudios' minifigure model so as not to cheat). lol username Posted May 24, 2013 Share Posted May 24, 2013 You might want to start comparing your model with a real life minifigure... Just doing it by eye is a very good way to screw things up. Trust me, I learned that through several botched attempts. Looking at your model here, or what you have of it... The torso is incredibly squished, and the leg proportions are generally off... uh, everywhere. You can find some good reference images and proper dimensions online for more precise modeling. But I cannot tell if it is squished or stretched... Also I am starting on the hands but I believe I will defiantly screw this part up... fingers crossed! Ben, I'm not sure whether or not you realize it but your oft sarcastic and terse replies are beginning to rub a lot of people the wrong way. If you genuninely would like feedback, then you need to be amicable in your communications with others. They are, after all, taking time out of their day to respond. His knowledge of LEGO is rivaled only by Alcom's building ability. His list of achievements could possibly fill 2 books and a small pamphlet, and he's only getting started. You have "drawn minifigures". How cute. I'm sure those pictures would like nice on your mother's fridge.
