Office Drones series (W.I.P)

I have had an idea.

It all started when I found this model by HJMmediastudios: http://www.blendswap.com/blends/view/16145

It was a small wheeled robot with work clothes on. I really liked the model and then after a day I came up with an idea. Why not create a YouTube series about them?

The idea will take off once I have permission from HJMmediastudios to use his model, I ought to credit him for such a fine model. And if after that Blender users here (or just members) can help me out with animating, ideas, characters and all the such... What do you think?

This is getting out of hand.

Look, I know that you have a lot of ideas. We all do.

I know what it's like to want to do everything. I have a veritable crapload of concepts and ideas that I want to see come to fruition. I have a number of projects that I am working on and off on in my spare time.

I have not been posting them. Why? Because I have nothing to show for them of course. I highly doubt that most of them will ever happen.

It's great that you have ideas, and it's great that you want to share them, but please tone it down a bit. You've posted several topics like this in a short span of time and I have not seen a single one make it beyond the concept stage.

Please don't post a topic until you are sure that you can and will actually complete your proposed project. Try to pick one that interests you the most so that you won't get bored and jump to another project.

Stop the constant juggling of projects.

Pick one, focus on it, put some effort into it, and once you've got something to show for it then you can tell us.

Make it something original, something you can do on your own. You want help here, and that is not a good sign. You need to show that you can do things for yourself before you ask for outside involvement, otherwise people will get the impression that they are doing everything for you, and why even include you to start with?

This project in particular, not only are you asking for the forum's help on, but the whole thing is based on someone else's creation.. I highly doubt that this guy is going to let some random stranger use his model, especially when said stranger has no credentials and has yet to produce anything of value.

I don't mean to sound harsh, but this must end here.

Stop posting new projects, and finish one of your old ones first. And create something on your own before you try to involve other people.

Please.

I'm out. Who's up next?

Once I have received permission from HJMmediastudios and get a small group for this project then I will work only on this idea till it finishes off. Until this project gets finished or ends accidentally I won't be working on other projects (The Gangnam Style parody project still isn't locked and I have asked Cirevam twice.

Once I have received permission from HJMmediastudios

That means you aren't sure it can happen, therefore it is still a concept, and due to your reliance on the cooperation of someone else, even more likely to fall through. The idea could be decent IF it could be followed through with a half decent plot and fairly good animation, but I don't see evidence of either. (A single model made by someone else doesn't count as evidence towards good animation.)

Can you make good animations?
And can you model?

If not, then you shouldn't be proposing this. The model looks fairly simple, just work at it and you can make something fairly similar that looks good.

O.T.
The 'RR "Gangnam Style" parody' has been removed! Yes! One project removed!

I can make quite decent animations (not brilliant of course) but I cannot model. I cheat by using meshes and fiddling about with them. The models are not mine! I do believe I said they were created by someone else (the small robots of course, the background was by me).

Just to note I hid two jokes within the picture but since RRU shrinks it down it is really hard to spot. It is on the paper that the bot on the right is holding (of course they don't have fingers).

Then clearly, you shouldn't be doing it, since all you're doing is copying someone's work.

That is exactly why I am asking the creator of the model for the use of his model. I still haven't received a reply and already I have made up two characters and a story line for the first episode (if there ever is one).

Oh yes! I found a soundtrack which I created for my The Unexpected agent PROJECT but I could use it in this one!

But I am unable to Upload it so I won't be able to put it up... Sorry!

  • 1 month later...

I have just created a script for the first part of possibly a game or something of Office Drones, one problem is that it reassembles Portal 2's first chapter, 'The Courtesy Call', rather strikingly. P-Class (The player's character) wakes up in a small yet fake office. C-Disk decides to break P-Class out of the office block even though P-Class isn't registered.

Using a crane contraption, C-dIsk tries to swing the office block onto somewhere where P-Class can get into the building without being fizzled. After breaking a pipe (unleashing Virus goop (A type of goo that rids viruses)) the crane controls get stuck and as the fake office crashes through the goo maintenance block a lever is pushed, levelling the the pressure of the goo higher and higher.

The pipes (holding the goo) start to crack open and virus goo splashes over the crane's main support, with massive amounts of goo hitting it the crane support melts and suddenly the crane and the fake office fall down a pit (reassembling Portal 2 Chapter 5 (or 4, I cannot remember) 'The Fall'). Eventually after the player has slowed down the fall of the fake office the cane continues to fall and wedges to create a little bridge.

P-Class and C-Disk move past a broken registration vault and make their way up to the above facility of Virus Bite (the Office Drone's company).

Of course the above isn't all interesting and I am really unsure about how C-Disk should free P-Class without killing him or fizzling him by pushing P-Class through a registration vault (made to make sure registered objects go through and unregistered objects are fizzled, like the Emancipation Grill (or Grid) in both Portal and Portal 2). This is why the above reassembles parts of both Portal and Portal 2.

I need help with continuing this so if anybody would like to help me continue this then anyone is free to do so.
