Well, this is interesting. The trailer for The LEGO Movie was just revealed, and already LEGO has announced another one, this time based on Ninjago.

The movie will be written by Dan and Kevin Hageman, who also write the hit TV show Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu (which airs on Cartoon Network) and have contributed to The LEGO Movie. Dan Lin and Roy Lee, producers of The LEGO Movie, will also be producers for Ninjago. Jill Wilfert, who oversees all LEGO movies, will be the executive producer, and Courtenay Valenti will oversee production for Warner Bros. No director has been decided on yet.

Interestingly, while the movie has the same writers as the TV show, it will actually "feature a new take that diverges from the TV series", though no further details have been revealed yet.

You're kidding me! As if the TV show wasn't enough! Still, sounds cool.

As they said, it will probably be some new take on the series that may improve it's quality, like... the ninjas could also now be turtles or something; I dunno.

This certainly is interesting, especially given that The LEGO Movie hasn't even been released yet. Hasn't LEGO or WB ever heard the saying "Don't count you eight-year-old-boys before they hatch"?

Anyhow, I am somewhat interesting to see how this movie turns out and how it diverges from the TV series. Except for the music, they should keep Jay Vincent as the composer as he has certainly done quite a job composing the score.

I don't know how to respond to that.

Anyway, will the Ninjago movie be coming to theaters like the other one? I probably won't see it either way, as I'm not extremely interested in Ninjago... especially when there's The LEGO Movie to see!

While this doesn't sound very interesting compared to The Lego Movie, I should probably wait until the trailer comes about before I can (kinda) judge whether or not it's seems interesting.

This explains why Lego announced Ninjago won't end in 2013.

The source you got this news from explains when The Lego Movie goes into cinemas; February 7th next year (obviously). @Jamesster, You know how it was announced that Ninjago wouldn't end this year? Here is your answer.

Ah, no. Just because of the good rep The LEGO Movie trailer got, LEGO is not going to suddenly make a new one. Oh, no. I'm sure this has been planned for a while now, and now that they get enough details and legal stuff in order, then can announce this Ninjago movie. One such as LEGO does not announce a movie on impulse because of a good movie trailer.

Honestly, Ninjago's TV show was enough for me. For a LEGO-branded movie, I'd rather them do another thing like Clutch Powers or The LEGO Movie—something that isn't specifically branded to an individual LEGO line.
