Does this have a habit of making the game unstable? The only bit I cant stand about Rock Raiders is having 1K+ Ore at the end of a Level. =D Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Cirevam Posted September 30, 2013 Share Posted September 30, 2013 Personally, I don't like wasting people's time so I haven't increased the cost of basic buildings that much. Some of the buildings in Time Raiders do have increased costs, namely the "tower" series of buildings which can cost between 60 to 100 raw ore. An ore refinery makes it much more economical and practical to build those. Vehicle upgrades are more expensive in some cases too. I've also made ore collection reliant on rubble-clearing vehicles (almost like SCVs from Starcraft) which can slow the game down in some cases, but there should be enough loose ore around that you could survive for a little while without something to clear the rubble. The technical reason is that the game's performance will diminish with more objects on the screen. If a building costs 50 ore and you teleport it out, you suddenly have 50 ore laying in a small pile along with a decreased framerate. LRR is prone to crashes already, so I try to prevent making it worse. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
