Creator
Hey, there, this is a question to all those people who own a 1999 copy of Lego Racers 1. Could you please tell me a) the day your Lego Racers exe file was created, and b) whether or not you've got the files "LEGORacers.alf" and "LEGORacers.wpj" in your Lego Racers folder? I'm asking this because of the problems I've been experiencing with the GHB recorder - as it turns out, there are two different Lego Racers versions from 1999, and mine happens to be the one that grappigegovert didn't know about, which is why his tools don't work with my game. We have been trying to find a solution for several days, but to no avail. Since nobody else has reported similar issues, I'm now wondering if I'm the only person on RRU with the alternate 1999 build of the game.
le717
http://will.kirk.by/uploads/rru/LR1Checksummer.zip There we go. If we all use that then we'll have consistent output. This also lists dates and filesizes. Say what? I have never heard of these files, nor have I ever heard anyone mention them. We do know there are two different versions of the 1999 revision (Modded Lego and perhaps one other (don't recall off the top of my head) have a very early copy of Racers >without copy protection, but the files you named... Creator
No copy protection? Oh, I didn't know about that. I'll have to ask grappigegovert if his version runs without the CD.... Also, your version appears to be identical to my own. Did you try the GHB viewer and did it work for you, le717?

"LEGORacers.alf" and "LEGORacers.wpj" Any chance you could upload these files? I'd be interested to see what's in them.
le717
Are these copies identical except for the copy protection? My copy (the "standard" 1999 version) and Modded Lego's copy is the same except for the copy protection and the full screen loading screens on all tracks, which must be controlled via the exe as our JAM archives are exactly the same. These are the only two known 1999 versions (with Modded Lego's one being rare), so this Creator has brought up is really confusing here. Any chance you could upload these files? I'd be interested to see what's in them. Yes, I'd like to see them as well. Also, your version appears to be identical to my own. Did you try the GHB viewer and did it work for you, le717? I had not even downloaded the GHB viewer until now. :P

Yes, I'd like to see them as well. I don't have them, grappigegovert does. Here's what he wrote in a PM: Well, that certainly is weird. I have a 1999 and a 2001 version, and they both have those alf and wpj files. Can you send me the contents of your LR folder (screenshot or text)? This is getting more and more confusing... all I wanted was to record some path files EDIT: he says that he can run the game without the disc. I guess that makes him the third person to use the ultra-rare original version.
grappigegovert
I'm sorry for causing the confusion regarding the alf and wpj files. Those files were created when I debugged LR with IDA pro. Ah, I though something like this may be the case.
