Rhyming Game

The rules of this forum game are easy to learn.

Continue the story, and let the flow not churn.

Words should terminate in similar sounds,

and the users congregate to help with each round.

 

If a user ends a sentence with a word that needs a rhyming pairing,

then provide one and keep the timing sterling.

 

And now we begin, this hopefully epic topic....

i really should have paid attention in English class... I've never been able to write poetry.

I'm a master of music and I write lyrics for fun.

I'm reading through the topic and it seems about time,

To show all of you sissies how to properly rhyme.

 

So you joined RRU: Rock Raiders United,

And hopefully the members made you feel well invited.

You've been here for a while so you know your way around,

But now you choose to bleed my ears out with these unworthy sounds.

 

So all that I will say, if you have what it takes,

Is go learn how to rhyme, then step up to the plate.

I expect to see improvement, not what you've previously shown,

And if you need me, I'll be waiting high atop my rhyming throne.

Though we can't really reach him there atop of that hill,

I'm still gonna try to approach his level of skill.

 

My rhyming isn't horrible, neither the best.

Facing Drillmaster here, is my ultimate test.

It's not something small, its part of a quest

and until I made it, rest assured: I won't rest.

challenging that title which you supposedly own.

making sure that these innocents can safely go home.

but I'm here 'cause my fear-level's far below zero.

You just kicked in with an attitude like you're emperor Nero,

but I'll bash you like the Sea Witch did with the later SS Spiro.

 

And it isn't going to be spectacular, doesn't need so much flair.

Nor does it have to take long when you're playing it fair.

I'm not sure if I'm noble, but I certainly care

about this topic and all the RRUs that are there.

I am sensing a battle of an epic scale,

where mad rhymes are swingin' like a battle flail,

so I hope I don't have to wear no battle mail,

because this rhyme war is as big as a whale.

Yo drillmaster, you are all Hubris like,

thinking you always are having teh greatest rhyme

when you should know that "term" and "burn" don't work no time

not even for a foo', not for a little tike.

 

Now you see what I did there was A B B A

It's a rhyme scheme more interesting than some repetitive stuff

which you claim is the best, of which I've had enough,

so show me some good rhymes or get on your way.
