Popular Post lol username
I haxed a Time Twister into a dead MMO. More probably coming sometime later, ideas welcome. What am I doing with my life. Torso texture is from Return to Blockland something something, thanks to whoever did that. The rest is LU stuff. NifSkope for model tweaking (adding the hat to a minifigure model), Paint.net for texture editing. Injected into a beta version of the game's login screen (though if beta builds worked properly with the "private servers" you could in theory actually get this guy to appear in a world as a proper NPC, too - alternately, get past the live game's anti-hax system, which I don't have the patience for). Yeah I know the hat's a slightly different shade than the body but if LU devs could be that lazy with official character models/textures so can I. There's also some minor editing goofs in the screenshots. Don't quite care about that right now either. First person to ask "how u stil play LU" gets shot with a Rank 3 Inventor's beehive and then pissed on. Further questioning will just result in the pissing bit. Edit: Classic Johnny Thunder. RTB textures again. ProfessorBrickkeeper, Neal, BadDream and 15 others

Fluffy Cupcake
You don't know how he plays LU (at least only the login screen at most)? I'm pretty sure it has been discussed around here before. I don't know if a topic was ever actually made though, and I can't find one, so you're out of luck.
Ben24x7
Quick question, how in the world did you get your hands on the LU Minifig models? And I mean an HONEST answer.

McJobless
The real answer is with "secret Jamesster techniques". I think the point is that it's either not entirely 100% perfectly legal or it's very complex with little payoff to discuss how this comes about. lol username
1 - Take LU beta client 2 - Swap out minifigure model/textures with edited versions 3 - Replace or remove login animation(s, optional) 4 - Launch client 5 - Profit Anyway, have an Imperial Soldier. Video this time because the animations give them a lot of life. Torso texture edited from one of the ones here: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=123627 Edit: M-Tron astronaut, also an unused idle animation. Torso texture edited from this. LU devs would have raised the visor and made it opaque and one with the helmet model, like this, because draw calls and stuff. I don't have to go to such lengths. Neal
D'awww, that M-Tron astronaut! Anyway, nice to see someone mod the Beta client, even if it may just be just some texture/model changes.

lol username
*poke* LU stuff sure has come a ways since then huh? This conversation reminded me of my earliest posts on the lego message boards about LU: We got the Explorien Bot specialty and the GM-only jetpacks were given out to players just before the game closed (though actually a friend of mine who was a LUP was able to get me one early), so that only left playing as Chip. Merdon just made a nice face texture (see above), so I only needed the torso - I just took a screenshot of Chip's video on the character screen in Stunt Rally, and through a combination of Paint.net and waifu2x (lol, but hey it works) was able to get it looking kinda okay (though it's ended up with DDS artifacts anyway). I reskinned Skee Daddle's original model, so first here he is as an NPC: And then I swapped out the main model with that (turned down the shading quality as it breaks otherwise): There, I've done everything I originally wanted to do in LU. lol username
The Deadly Spaceman from Brikwars. Aside from just being a cool character, he also stars in the art that changed the direction of LU from a city-themed game to... Well, something more like Brikwars. Quote ... The biggest one was Lego Universe, where they were doing the standard Lego single-IP thing and making a game about City and nothing else. Then one day they found the BrikWars painting, projected it on the wall, and said "Everybody stop. Let's scrap the game we were trying to make and make this instead." http://rayhawk.livejournal.com/439433.html Quote If you remember the really early previews, the game was originally going to be just running around in a Lego City theme. Then they saw BrikWars, scrapped the whole thing, and started over. They tried to hire me right on the spot, but I was busy on a different MMO project. (That one never ended up getting launched; I should have taken the Lego job first chance I got.) But since they couldn't get me, they just turned BrikWars into part of employee training. Everyone working on Lego Universe got a day-one orientation presentation about What Is BrikWars and Who Is Mike Rayhawk. Then two or three years later, my previous project wrapped up and I was free to switch over to Lego Universe instead. Day one, just like all the other new hires, I had to sit through the What Is BrikWars and Who Is Mike Rayhawk presentation. It was a surreal experience. http://brikwars.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=11548&p=303203#p303196 So it seems quite fitting for him to finally appear in this game. lol username
Here's one for Mythrun/Ari. It's a re-creation of something I did back in 2012 except done properly and in-game this time. Figured out a lot of new modding tricks and possibilities while working on this one as I had to work around several roadblocks and technical quirks. Also got a lot of screenshots in case he ever wants to do stuff with them: http://imgur.com/a/t1HNn Lair, Sim, aidenpons and 2 others
lol username
The torso textures and the Spyrius guy's face texture are edited from Return to Blockland 1.045, the Royal King's face is edited from a texture made by Aaronburner05. (Pereki pointed out that the name "Major Kartofski" seems to belong to the Spyrius android.) lol username
hey remember that really early LU trailer with the grumpy darkling battle (starts around 1 minute in) the LU devs were kind enough to leave some early face textures in some layers of a random PSD that was in the game data for some reason, and there's some early NPCs that still use those early UV maps, so (yeah he holds the sword in the other hand in the trailer but how it is here is how pretty much all weapons in LU were actually held) bonus: some random screens of crux prime I think are kinda cool, and one of them has the eyepatched trailer dude too ProfessorBrickkeeper, Ben24x7, Fluffy Cupcake and 7 others
emily
Considering the thematic turn the game took in development, I'm surprised this isn't the look Bob adopted ProfessorBrickkeeper
