Jimbob
This started out as a serious MOC - I was going to have a whole story written about it and everything - but then I just kept adding to it and it got a little ridiculous. So, I hereby present to you the monolithic six-wheeled behemoth that is Chief's Command Vehicle, his personal over-modded vehicle with all sorts of awesome lights and flashy bits. I built it using various parts from one of each set (well, most of them), with a few of my own spares added, constructing it all around a single vehicle base with an additional pair of wheels added in front. Overview Details Here Chief sits in his own cockpit with all sorts of tech wizardry about him. These twin lasers rotate for a greater arc of fire. Who doesn't love twin drills? These retract for better mobility. This crazy engine requires eight energy crystals to power the vehicle, although one is used just powering the lights. Up on top, Sparks pilots the crane, using it to collect energy crystals and ore and dump them in the cargo. Bandit and Axel control various parts of the vehicle from behind, sitting above Chief's personal Tunnel Scout. Jimbob Jeffers Docs sits in one side cockpit... ...And Jet sits in the other. At the back you can see the jet engines which support the wheels, and the three cargo buckets. Two hold energy crystals while the third holds ore. As the ore is very heavy, support beams slide underneath to keep it lifted up. These are pulled out to lower the bucket when transferring the cargo. I had a lot of fun making this, and it took 5-6 hours (I didn't realise I hadn't eaten lunch until I looked at the clock and it was 4pm...). I can't see it legitimately fitting into the game though. RockRaiderWolf
Love it. for a moment I thought you had it holding that sat dish (or watever you call it) on the chains because the boulder was hidden behind it.
le717
Good time a day, that thing is huge. Love it! :D
Shadowblaze
I didn't realise I hadn't eaten lunch until I looked at the clock and it was 4pm... That is understandable, this model seemed a lot of fun to build. Great job, this is pure awesomeness. You know, this should really go in the LEGO Awesomeness topic. Jimbob
Love it. for a moment I thought you had it holding that sat dish (or watever you call it) on the chains because the boulder was hidden behind it. Haha, I think it would be a waste of a crane just to lug about a satellite dish. But hey, better reception if you lift it up. Good time a day, that thing is huge. Love it! Indeed, it's quite heavy to lift! I didn't realise I hadn't eaten lunch until I looked at the clock and it was 4pm... That is understandable, this model seemed a lot of fun to build. Great job, this is pure awesomeness. You know, this should really go in the LEGO Awesomeness topic. Well it wasn't so fun cleaning all the dust off my models first, but other than that yes it was great! Ah, I don't think this classifies as Awesomeness, but thank you anyway. alan
Awesome work JimbobJeffers, this MOC fits perfectly in the Rock Raiders theme. You mixed the colors just like the real ones and there is absolutely nothing* I could think of to be improved! It might be too bulky to navigate through the caves but still it is a real RR set! I would love to see more details on how it is built! I especially love the way the twin drills are mounted and I love the 'engine' that looks like a part of the teleporting system aboard the LMS Explorer. As a pure Rock Raiders fan I can feel its power by just staring at the screen - and there is hardly anything apart from the real RR sets that gave me the same feeling. *I would only recommend you to turn all the black RR logo plates so that the drill's heads face the front. I just don't like them going into various directions... never liked that Jimbob
aidenpons
above Chief's personal Tunnel Transport. Apart from that.... Wow. Wow. Wow. This MOC is so absolutely fantastic. Wow. I am literally loast for words. It's great, combing FLASHY LIIIIIGHTS with good FEATURES: Like the lasers (grrrr*) can rotate, the ore bucket can tip down, and that the drills can retract. This MOC is Made Of Win. One complaint: There are no sandwiches. How could you DO THIS. No sandwiches? *Do you KNOW how often DDI spelt 'Laser' differently? It took me AGES to work out which one was which. Can't they just SETTLE on something, even if it's llaaaaz0r? At least that's REGULAR.
STUDZ
That's just amazing! Although I'd like to see more of Chief's personal Tunnel Transport.
Arthuriel
Wow, a pretty cool Rock Raiders MOC (especially for a few hours building time) and an Inspiration for another Insane Raiders comic (Rock Raider: "Sir, we already told you, that the Uber-Awesome-Drill-Mega-Overlord-Pimp-Station won't fit into the tunnels or caves of Planet U" Chief: "Then make the paths bigger!" Rock Raider:"But..." Chief:"DO AS I SAY!") aidenpons

And thank you both for the praise - I genuinely thought this looked stupid and I was going to get poo-pooed for its ridiculousness, but I guess not.
