grappigegovert
While trying things for the LEGO Racers online mod, I found a way to disable the joystick check. This means you will be able to play local multiplayer without the need of an extra controller. To achieve this, a small edit in the game exe is required.I recommend making a backup of your exe file first. There are two methods to do this: 1. use the automatic patcher I made: https://ore.rockraidersunited.org/legacy/LEGO_Racers_multiplayerpatch_270543.zip steps: 1. extract the archive in your LEGO Racers folder. 2. run either 1999nodrm.exe or 2001.exe, depending on the version of LR you have. 3. click patch if it says 'file patched successfully', you're done! Note: if a crc error shows, you've probably ran the wrong exe. Note2: you can delete the extracted files afterwards. 2. manually edit the exe with a hex-editor: 2001 version: at 0x532E7, change 0x75 to 0xEB 1999 no-drm version: at 0x80FE7, change 0x75 to 0xEB 1999 drm version: I don't have this version, so I can't test it ProfessorBrickkeeper, Quisoves Potoo, Cirevam and 5 others
Cirevam
Neat. Would local multiplayer be able to tie into LRO, so you could have four people race against each other with only two computers? It's a bit of a fringe case though.
grappigegovert
I think that would technically be possible, but you'll have to ask Hoithebest; he is making the mod.
