I was recently going through some of my original game discs searching for some assets, and ended up locating some of the original PDFs derived directly from the original source documents, thus preserving formatting, vector culling, and layers. I thought many of you guys would enjoy them, so have I posted the ones I could locate to Oresome in PDF format. As you may notice, I am still missing some manuals, so if you don't see a manual here, please consider checking your own game discs to see if you have it, and link it in a post for me to add to the original post. Thank you!

Also, if you wish to extract the images, fonts, and text, I suggest you use a website or program like Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop. If you do not have those applications at your disposal, you many also use http://www.extractpdf.com

Nice collection! I'm not sure all of my games came with these. Too bad some of the older onse like LEGO Racers are black-and-white when the actual manual was on color.

I'm still going through things, but it seems a lot of my manual PDFs are different than yours... I'll update this post as I go.

 

LEGO Chess - Seems mine has an installation section yours doesn't have, with a graphic of Fort Legoredo. Maybe more, haven't looked closely.

LEGO Creator Knights' Kingdom and LEGO Creator Knights' Kingdom again - I've somehow ended up with three copies of this game. One has no manual PDF, the other two have manual PDFs, each with a file size different from each other and yours. Haven't looked for differences very much, backgrounds seem slightly different.

LEGO Loco - File size is significantly bigger, seems to have more stuff in general going by a brief glance at the table of contents.

LEGO Racers - In color, not sure if there's any other differences.

LEGOLAND - Got two copies of this, PDFs are the same between each other but seem pretty different than yours going by the table of contents.

My PC copies of Drome Racers and Island Xtreme Stunts don't have PDF manuals (or any manuals for that matter), but the PS2 versions have printed manuals. Dunno if there's any PC PDFs floating around. I'm also pretty sure I've seen another version of the LR2 manual somewhere before.

I have a couple of print manuals - LEGOLAND, IXS, and Drome Racers from big box copies, and a Creator one and a RR one from the 2000 jewel case repackages. They're all packed away but I can dig them out over Christmas to check for differences if the potential is there.

I once found out that if you put a classic Lego game onto a computer the game does not support, you can find the manual there. I'll have a fish around and see if I can find some more manuals you either haven't or yet to have posted.

I'm not sure if we necessarily need multiple versions of game manuals in different languages, between the fact that most people here speak English and that I'm sure quite a few of us were just going to extract assets from the PDF files.

That being said, we do not yet have a PDF of the Drome Racers manual, so if you have that in English, that would be quite nice to see uploaded. Even if you don't have it in English, for the assets, your Dutch/French version may also be neat to see.

None of the dropbox links work for me. It shows the file but then just says "there was an error downloading" without even trying to.

 

edit: okay it works now nevermind lmao.

 

Anyway it'd be nice to know some of the metadata on some of these. I've managed to sort them out by date and origin for the most part and see the differences, but there's a couple I'm unsure of - the Loco manual Prof posted doesn't have the back cover in it, so I'm not sure of its date since the metadata got wiped when I downloaded it. Two of the three LCKK manuals have 2000 dates, but different serial codes, and one is significantly larger despite the only difference I can tell being that the space between lines is smaller. The Color and B&W Racers manuals seem to be exactly the same in text so I have no clue what's up there.

 

Also holy hell why are the Rock Raiders manuals so gigantic compared to everything else?

 

Also I swear to god I had a Drome Racers PDF but I lost my disc and I dunno if I copied it

Ok. That is because the platform automatically removes items if they haven´t been downloaded for 7+ days. :) A little unfortunate that you didn´t have time to take a look at the files a little earlier. Now I have to re-extract and re-upload them. Oh well. :) 

 

I can´t upload to Oresome for some reason. :( I always get an error message. 

 

I found a copy of LEGO Friends at a second hand store. :)

 

The only one that is left now is LEGO Creator HP Chamber of secrets.
