One of the new features of Map Creator Finial 2 is the introduction of the NPL Scripter. The NPL scripter is for, of course, writing scripts for your levels.

Preview:

Separate Window

The scripter is displayed in a separate window like that of the "Original Map Importer". This is so you can still look at your map whilst writing your script.

Command Listing

On the bottom you'll notice the listbox. This box contains the fill listing of game functions including the speicial function talking about on the wiki. This box is there is you can see the functions without having to look at the website or wiki to see what functions are available. You can also double click on any of these functions and it will insert the function at the cursor position in the text editor.

Wizard

The wizard button will allow you to make quick scripts and will be useful to those who don't know how to write scripts. More will be explained later.

Additional Functions

You will also see more functions to open and save scripts, disassemble compiled scripts and compile them. The 'Save and Close' button on the right simply temporarily saves the script and closes the window, so when you open it up again, the script will be there. If you wish to save the script to file, you'll need to save as a nRM file.

Good work Cyrem, you are a bloody awesome programmer and it's great to see something like this being implemented in your program!

BTW was ogun involved as inspiration...?

An NPL Scripter has always been planned for the program. It will use ogun's NPL compiler for the compiling process behind the scenes.

Will you be waiting for the release of the proper compiler? It'll probably generate much more useful errors - not "something weird here". :P

And work better in some way or other. I think.

Hmmm... Baz still isn't that descriptive on what the NPL commands are. I still think my question hasn't been answered yet.

Great progress Cyrem! The developement of this tool is amazingly fast and I enjoy to see you finishing step for step until we end up with a great tool for modding Lego Rock Raiders!
