RRURadio Changelist 1: RRURv2
Welcome. Please, make yourself comfortable. For once, you may take off your pants if you feel life it. Let's be calm and relaxed.
So, as you may or may not be aware, I recently just finished school, and have one more exam left. Because of this, and the fact I will not be attending schoolies because of some passport issues, I will be dedicating my time to updating the radio. Previous versions of the radio from LZ and I were just a big list of songs, with new music added to the end. There was no variety, no shuffling, nothing about RRU and no "DJ" in a sense.
I want to change that by bringing about Rock Raiders United Radio, Version 2. There are going to be a lot of changes, and I'd like to see the radio feature become a lot more used than it is.
Firstly, 205 songs is too much. The radio gets way too cramped and nobody listens to the songs at the bottom. So, every week the current songs will be shuffled and a couple changed, and every fortnight, all of the songs will be cleared, and a new list of songs will be included. User-input is always important, and thus I'll be opening a survey which allow you to vote for your song picks to be included, as well as vote for songs currently in the playlist which will be changed.
Secondly, RRU Radio should be about RRU. Because of this, I want to include some RRU content. With your permission, I'd like to upload segments from Skype chats, previously made RRU podcasts and voice recordings, as well as various clips from the multiple quote conglomerations on the site. Depending on how much content gets sent to me, the playlist should include new stuff weekly, with old stuff being swapped out.
Thirdly, a good DJ hosts his radio properly, introduces each song and does his own shtick. Therefore, hopefully I'll be able to do just that. Of course, my voice is terrible, so I might swap in other people from time to time. I'll be giving news surrounding RRU, talking about upcoming songs, reviewing maps and mods and anything else I can think of.
If there's anything else which I should do, please comment below. Note that this is currently using Grooveshark, which is somewhat limited in its abilities, as I have to manually shuffle the playlist, there's no live-recording feature and the theme cannot be changed.
Enjoy your day.
