    LMS - Lrr Modding System

UPDATE: Version 0.1.2 has been released. I'm an idiot and never noticed the code to add d3drm.dll was broken. I'm planing on making a unified modding system for LRR. It's going to be an all-purpose launcher, patcher/mod installer, wad manager, etc. It's going to be written in python, frozen with py2exe for usability. The source and download will be on github. Patchman scripts will be supported. CFG mods will be managed with diff and patch (if I can get it working). If people want, I will even make sure you can play custom music with it. I'll start it out as a launcher, then add modules to it as I go. Anyone who knows python is encouraged to help. Links and updates will be posted here. Current features: Game launching Automatic color depth changing Wad priming Automatic adding of d3drm.dll Telling you off for trying to mod in Program Files Source: GithubDownload: LMS V0.1.2 Currently planned: Launcher Wad management (Priming, manual de/recompiling) Mod management with conflict detection Mod patching (maps, models, animations, etc) CFG patching (if it would quit being stupid) CFG checking Overhaul mode Registry based settings (new) Alternate installer functionality (the disk is obviously required)(new) Possible future additions: Map making and npl scripting In-game custom music playing ??? Legend: Done Partially done Having issues Not started

What You Don't Like About Rock Raiders

Well, as a pointer in the right direction, IIRC the original plan was to have the whale able to move through walls. The idea was is could 'swim' through rock, and would breach periodically causing potential devastation in its wake.

What You Don't Like About Rock Raiders

I've read through this entire thread, nodding practically all the way through. I agree with most of these points unfortunately. To clear up a few of the points that spring to mind: Final level being too easy. I remember putting the final level together, and I originally set up wave after wave of creatures coming from the side walls (i.e. you kill one, another emerges). The idea was, the further towards the final cavern you go, the more creatures would be triggered. In order to overcome this, you would need to build a 'safe path' with electric fences either side. That or arm all of your units to the hilt. Unfortunately, it was deemed "too difficult" (by LEGO), and many of the creature triggers were taken out. In hindsight, I wish I had just left the old level files in the directory structure so you'd be able to recover that version of the level (I'd love to see it again myself after all this time). Weapons/battle being generally rubbish This one came from our overlords at LEGO. We were told to tone down the "violence" as it was a "family-friendly game". I haven't investigated, however I'd be interested to see if there are any remnants of the old Rock Monster "explosion" animations left behind. Also, you already know of the planned Rockwhale. I would have loved for that to have actually made it into the game!! A LANDSLIDE HAS OCCURED. A LANDSLIDE HAS OCCURED. A LANDSLIDE HAS OCCURED. A LANDSLIDE HAS OCCURED. Sorry. Sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry. Did I apologize enough yet? Also, one thing that *always* bugged me (and still does). AN ENERGY CRYSTAL HAS BEEN FOUND! I always hated the emphasis on the word 'HAS'.

Well I guess my motto should be "better late than never", after my prolonged absence.

I need to do some more work on the Rockwhale I have in LRRPC. It walks but not much else right now.

Actually, the download link is broken. If you would read the original post, you would see that the link says RRUBucket but goes to the old download area. But thanks for the fix.
