2013 LEGO Castle
AcePilot90 and one other reacted to STUDZ for a topic
Looks like LEGO is keeping the Castle theme alive still. The theme doesn't have a confirmed name yet, but it will be released in Summer 2013, with a wave of 5 sets: 70400 Forest Ambush 70401 Gold Getaway 70402 Gatehouse Raid 70403 Dragon Mountain 70404 King's Castle Other details are scarce at this time. Perhaps these sets will focus on the Forestmen, if we can guess anything from some of the set names. Any guesses or theories on what these sets may hold? Sources: Groove Bricks2 points -

LEGO Racers HD (mod project, WIP)

LEGO Racers HD will focus on replacing the low resolution textures of LEGO Racers with new higher resolution ones. LEGO.jam File Extractor
LEGOPerry reacted to JrMasterModelBuilder for a topic
With some help from the file format information jamesster found on Xentax I have made a JAM extractor. For the amount of information it has to process, it's rather fast, but it will hang there for a bit as it processes all the files (so have patience). Without further ado, here it is: JAM Extractor Latest Downloads (RRU): Windows 32-bit Windows 64-bit Mac 64-bit Latest Downloads (Github): Windows 32-bit Windows 64-bit Mac 64-bit Other Links: All Downloads GitHub Repository Extract your download to find the main "JAMExtractor" executable (all files are required, do not separate them or it will not work). Usage You can run it by the command line or, on Windows, simply drag-and-drop the LEGO.JAM file onto the main executable and wait for it to finish creating a folder next to the original file. To recompile, simply drop a folder onto the main executable and it will create a JAM file. >If you have the 1999 version of the game, it is unnecessary to rebuild a JAM archive. It is possible to have the program also print the files being processed as the program runs if you add an "--verbose" to the arguments. >Still need a GUI? Check out this topic. Important Notes The LJAM file format does not allow file or folder names to contain more than 12 characters. As of version 1.0.2, the program will skip over file and folder whose names are longer than 12 characters. Thus, any files and folders you create within the JAM archive's folders that have names longer than 12 characters will automatically be excluded when creating a new JAM archive. Older versions would only use the first 12 characters of the name as the file name and would include them. Alternately, you can use the source code from the GitHub repository with a Python interpreter. As of version 1.0.2, JAM Extractor is compatible with Python 2.7 and newer, older versions are compatible with 3.0 and newer.1 point -

LEGO The Lone Ranger Set Pictures
Cyrem reacted to lol username for a topic
LEGO's latest license is The Lone Ranger, an upcoming Disney film based on, well, the Lone Ranger. LEGO released a teaser image for the upcoming theme a while back, which has been circulating around the internet. Now, Brickset has reported that the latest LEGO consumer catalog contains pictures of the sets, and thanks to user D-Dennis, catalog scans showing the new western theme are now available: Picture 1 Picture 2 Picture 3 While this is certainly good news for people who are fans of the movie or just fans of westerns, it's also bad news for the Modular Western Town on LEGO Cuusoo. Cuusoo projects can be rejected for simply being too similar to other LEGO sets or themes also in production, and it's possible that the simple existence of LEGO The Lone Ranger could spell rejection for this popular Cuusoo idea, even if it was posted online before LEGO The Lone Ranger was announced. This also means we likely won't be seeing an original, non-licensed LEGO Western theme for quite some time now. 2013 LEGO Castle
STUDZ reacted to lol username for a topic
Hold it, cowboy... Firstly, this is some really old news, it's been on Eurobricks for about a month. Secondly, do some fact checking before posting, the "Castle Legends" theme name is entirely unconfirmed. The only reason I can think of that this site is calling it that is that the original site that leaked these set names mistakenly put them under the "LEGO Legends" theme. Also, reboot of Kingdoms? As in, the 2010-2012 Castle theme? Dude. LEGO Castle has been around since 1978. You can't call a continuation of an evergreen theme a reboot of the wave that came directly before it.1 point -
How Did You Start Your Lego Collection?
STUDZ reacted to Cyrem for a topic
My 'start' wasn't that interesting. I never got a LEGO set when I was young, LEGO was too expensive for the budget back then. I got handy-downs, lots of mixed LEGO. I still have most of it, but the LEGO itself is in bad condition... anything from teethmarks, broken pieces to melted LEGO. This is not to say I didn't have fun, I had a lot of fun. I'm only now beginning to buy LEGO (at 22). I'm 'into' the Star Wars sets atm.1 point -

LEGO The Lone Ranger Set Pictures
STUDZ reacted to Cyrem for a topic
The sets look good, but I really do hope they don't cancel that Cuusoo project. If they do, I'd expect a bit of backlash because there is a fair amount of people that want it. As for the movie, eeeeehhh.... I don't see anything worth going to the movies for. I would have preferred a proper western movie... or a movie that actually uses native Americans in it.1 point -

The Return of Ninjago
lol username reacted to Lair for a topic
NO, NO, NO Lego is decades old, and the 90s are nowhere near a Golden Age You don't understand what I'm talking about and assuming Golden Age = good (which doesn't entirely fit the 90s anyway). Golden Age in the sense I know it would be like the earlier decades, maybe not the 30s but certainly FAR before the 90s. Look up on ages of comic books for a sort of comparison. It's a bad comparison but it should sort of show why I think you are being silly. We should do something similar for LEGO so that this NEVER HAPPENS AGAIN1 point -

It wasn't. At all. A different age than the 90s, yes, but not golden. Of course, I don't know what the basis is, and what time periods would be what age, but it certainly isn't this.1 point -

Everybody is taking this doomsday stuff wrong. The Mayan calendar ends where I take over the world. They weren't going to make a new calendar because they knew all personal computers come with one built in, and by that point in time, it's pointless continuing their own. They even prepared tribute for me all those thousands of years ago. But then they went and wiped themselves out. I guess the new age will have to do without a bunch of Mayans piloting my starships. I'm quite flattered that everybody fears me so much, but really, when I told the Mayans "the world it will end," I meant "science shall rule rather than humans' greed for power. No more will inventors be persecuted for their revolutionary inventions. No more will retards with an education run around claiming to be scientists and impose lies upon the scientific community. No, science shall ascend into its rightful ruling place and people will learn the meaning of 'progress'." ^^^^^^^^^^^^ That, is what I think of all this 2012 hype.1 point -
