As you can tell from his gigantic post count, he came here to post just that and left.

I've just done some testing on this myself, doing a few single races over and over, and here's what I've found: Most of the time, if you finish a lap behind Captain Redbeard (not just behind the leader, you must be behind Redbeard no matter what place he is in) then the shortcut will open itself the following lap. I've tried this on both lap 2 and 3. Finishing lap 1 first, then waiting for Redbeard to pass me on lap 2, and the shortcut will blow open on lap 3. This did not happen as described in 2 or 3 attempts, but the majority of races, this is exaclty what happened. I've even stayed behind at the shortcut to make sure that no AI racers opened it on lap 1, finished the lap behind Redbeard, then sped ahead to make sure that I'm the first racer to the shortcut, and it'll still be open, with no time for a racer to have opened it while I wasn't looking. Since this seems to open at the start of a new lap, I don't think you can just wait around infront of it and watch to see if it explodes on it's own, and I have tried sitting infront of it for a few laps, just to be sure. From what I gather, it seems to open up on it's own as a pity shortcut once you've fallen behind. EDIT: Yeah, nevermind, it's the cannon.

C'mon, that's nothing. What's really hilarious is putting magnetic traps just in front of shields. And seeing the one red dot on the map get stuck.

Then click the minimize on it to make it hidden. Uh... the SBox doesn't appear on the New Content page. It only appears on the home page. There are going to be a lot of things you don't want to see. In seriousness, it's someone typing things in a box. There is nothing at all physically preventing you from seeing the chat. I hate to sound like one of those idiots in youtube comments, but I really think you should probably try to be less sensitive. This is the world and there will always be things you don't like, some far worse than someone babbling on a little website. Plus, when have people been "really mean" (extreme is right about that wording) there? If there was someone acting absolutely awful I'd understand not wanting to see that (still nothing that prevents you from scrolling all the way, I would really like it if you could explain to me how this works), but I never see that kind of stuff ever except in events like Devestater's explosions, so I have no idea what you are referring to. I'm wondering whether or not the Cannon-Honk/Shortcut-Opening thing was programmed in there on purpose, or if it's just some bizarre glitch. I mean, they didn't even have time removing the remains of their deleted shortcuts or fix the AI voices issue, but they had time to add this completely nonsensical connection between a row of barrels and a cannon that's being fired because someone honked at it? Sounds somewhat questionable... It's either a glitch, or High Voltage Software had really strange priorities...

Oh, don't get me started on Standing Small... That book is just plain sloppy, too many errors to count. Indeed, so many in that one. I was making a list once, then gave up. I once made a list of errors (which ended up pretty large) and posted it on Brickipedia in a blog post. It got tons of comments pointing out even more errors, mainly on licensed figures (which I don't know nearly as much about). I was just dumbfounded at how LEGO gave the green light to such a thing.

DK pumps out LEGO books like no-tomorrow. They also generally have a number of errors in them. For minifigures, I've found the The Unofficial LEGO Minifigure Catalog to be better than all other books I've found.

I thought I'd make a topic for people to post their texture discoveries - basically any knowledge and/or textures that haven't already been posted. Hopefully we can accumulate a lot of useful information here I'll start by sharing what I've discovered with the powerup HUD. Firstly, you can download all the textures for it here. Basically, all the powerup icons use black for transparency. However, unlike most (if not all) other textures in the game, these do scale. That means that a 512x512 pixel image will spread across half the screen, although this can be used to make larger icons if necessary - the anchor point is at the lower-left, so the HUD won't cut off the window. Both the HOLDER.BMP and HOLDERWP.BMP images have colour filters applied to them dependant on the currently selected powerup, so keep this in mind when texturing.
