Back in early January, it was announced that LEGO's new Legends of Chima IP is set to have a total of three games by the end of the year. The first of these, a web and iOS racing game, was released the very next day to mixed reviews, while a surprising amount of beta gameplay of LEGO Legends of Chima Online was leaked shortly afterwards.
And now, we finally get a look at LEGO Legends of Chima: Laval's Journey, a title being developed by TT Games and set for release on the PS Vita and Nintendo 3DS this summer (with a DS version set for a fall release). So, what new information has been revealed?
... Well, nothing to indicate this isn't much more than a run-of-the-mill handheld TT LEGO game, the the only difference being that this time all the characters are furries. The page for the game on videogames.lego.com states that the story is about Laval trying to find "triple-Chi armor", and mentions the game features 15 levels divided into five areas, with each area home to a specific stereotype species: Lions, Eagles, Gorillas, Rhinos, and Crocodiles.
There's also a couple of in-game images, but they don't really show much, just some character models:
It's still possible that TT has some interesting stuff planned here, but the vagueness of the game's entry on LEGO.com, plus the lower quality of TT's previous LEGO handheld games, isn't making it look that promising. Perhaps that will change once we actually see the game in action.
