Cafeteria 1.0 BETA 7 - Launcher & Mod Loader for LRR

Cafeteria! 1.0 BETA 7 Cafeteria is a Game Launcher and Mod Loader for LEGO Rock Raiders. It allows you to play LEGO Rock Raiders mods without manual installation and also allows you to configure the various parameters of LEGO Rock Raiders/LEGO Rock Raiders Community Edition. Installation - First, download the latest version of Cafeteria at the bottom of this post. - Extract Cafeteria and all its files into the installation directory of LEGO Rock Raiders. This is usually: C:\Program Files (x86)\LEGO Media\Games\Rock Raiders - Your installation is finished. Whenever you want to play, start Cafeteria and launch the game through it instead. Requirements Most new computers already have these installed, however if you are missing one, you may get errors in the program. - .NET Framework 4.5 (Download) Installing Mods Mods come in files with the extension *.wadp. You can find mods in topics on this forum. To install a mod, simply place the WADP file inside the "Mods" directory or use the "Add Patch" button. You can confirm a mod has been installed and is valid by visiting the "Mod Manager" tab in Cafeteria where it will display. Ordering Mods Using the arrows on the interface you can move mods up and down. Mods at the end of the list are considered "low priority" and mods up the top are considered "high priority". Mods are installed in order from Low to High Priority. As some mods overlap others or must be applied after other mods, you can order them in the correct installation order. FAQ I heard this allows playing LRR in high resolutions? You did hear correctly. Old versions of Cafeteria did allow this, however this has since changed. Playing LRR in high resolution has now been moved to the Rock Raiders Community Edition project where it will be built into the game. How do I make my own Patches? Please see this topic: Patch Documentation for Cafeteria Changelog 1.0 BETA 7 Added "Addons" to Online Mod library for installing things like D3DRM. Fixed case sensitivity on CFG:Open Added Context Menu Items "Remove Patch" and "Open in File Explorer" Added "Create New Patch" under Tools. This will create a new patch with file structure under "Mods" and added it to the Mod list. 1.0 BETA 6 CFG:AddBlock will not duplicate an existing block. CFG:AddProperty will not duplicate an existing property, instead it will update an existing property. 1.0 BETA 5 Fixed encoding issues with languages other than English. 1.0 BETA 4 Renamed JMP command to CMP command Added new JMP command to simply jump to labels without compare. Added online library for mods (not much yet still adding) Mod description tooltips. Added patch log to see the last log of patch applications. Added "FileAdd" "FileRemove" "DirectoryMerge" to replace "WAD:..." equivalents. These have enhanced debugging messages. Old commands have not been removed. 1.0 BETA 3 Added variables & related commands: VAR / VAR:FromCFG / VAR:Increment / VAR:Decrement Added the ability to Jump in a script with JMP <variable> <opcode> <value> <jumplabel> Added format specified to variable output {var|D2} = 01, {var|F2} = 1.00 Added the ability to work with ANY config file, CFG, AE, PTL, OL etc. Just CFG:Open <path> and CFG:Save when done. 1.0 BETA 2 Removed case sensitivity from AddFilesFromDirectory. How To Install LEGOLAND on a 64-bit Computer

As most of you may know, LEGOLAND is one of those annoying games that is perfectly 32-bit in every regard, except for its installer -- it's 16-bit, which basically means it's impossible to run on a 64-bit computer, regardless of what you try. For the longest time, most people believed the only way to solve this was by installing it from one computer and copying the files to another, but you lose the registry values in the process. I thought about writing an alternate installer, but I can't figure out how to extract any of the files manually. Thanks to the guys at ReactOS though, I found a simple way of doing it. First, you must copy all of the files from your disc to the hard drive. Now download this file. Extract and place it in the directory where you copied all the game files to, and launch via it. It's basically a 32-bit version of the InstallShield V3 setup program. Install as you typically would, and the game should be good to go! Word of advice though, this is also one of those that ignores the default installation directory and just puts it into C:Program Files instead of C:Program Files (x86), so you may want to fix that. I don't know if that's a quirk with you, but it is for me. Enjoy the game!

    Review: #8119 Thunder Racer

LEGO Racers #8119 Thunder Racer Review by RobExplorien Note: This review may show quite some similarities to another review I recently did (#8120 Rally Sprinter), as both sets are somewhat the same. Nevertheless, here is the review on another set from the beloved Racers theme. Since its release in 2001 (with the Xalax-racers), the Racers theme is still perpetuated as of 2013. From pull-back motors to just simply pushing the vehicle forward, the Racers theme maintains its popularity and has an ongoing list of sets. To highlight one in this review, it's the Thunder Racer from the Tiny Turbos subtheme. A set from early 2009, and at a retail price of $5,00 (for my country €5,00), not very expensive for a fast-looking racecar. As of most of these subthemes, the Thunder Racer is part of a wave of four vehicles. The box of this set is a recognizable box for the Racers theme, as many other sets have been released with this box design (the top being black or red, depends on the wave). As I will say this many times, the age limits are, well, not correct according to my standards. I rather emphasize on 'ages 6 and up', for many teens and adults may still like to build and/or play with this set. The set features an 1:55 scale model of a black-and-green racecar, suitable for circuits like the California Speedway (as pictured on the box). As for many Racers sets, you can combine them with eachother very well. For example, this set can be combined with #8125 (Thunder Raceway), to recreate a whole race. Below you can see that this is pictured on the back of the box as well. The cars in the #8125 set generally share the same design as the Thunder Racer. As for the contents of the box, here's a list of it: 47 pieces sticker sheet with 14 stickers instructions Then there's something that dominates the Racers models, stickers. Stickers always add something nice to the set, and may sometimes even look better than printed-on bricks. You have a sticker sheet containing 14 stickers for such a small set, but that doesn't mean it's bad. On the contrary, the stickers really add nice detailing to the vehicle. Those stickers add that green flow to the Thunder Racer, which I personally like very well. Below you can see all the stickers (on the bricks). They're all covering a single brick, something I rather see than stickers covering 2 or more bricks. The instructions show you how to build the Thunder Racer in 13 steps. (Note: The top of the instructions sheet isn't shady, the background of the sheet is just getting darker.) For beginning LEGO builders, an easy task, because it's explained well how to build the vehicle and it's not hard to build it either. Putting on the stickers is a focusing job, so that might be the only obstacle you encounter when putting the bricks all together. You can also build a bigger vehicle, combining the Thunder Racer with the #8122 (Desert Viper) set. The instructions show you the first 6 steps for building this 'racing truck'. The chassis for this vehicle shows similarities to the Rally Sprinter, like it shows similarities to many other sets of the Tiny Turbos subtheme. And then after a five-minute job, you get this fast-looking 9cm measuring (3.5inch) racecar number 17, ready to outrace all the others. It has a dark windscreen, wide tires, a big spoiler and nice printings on the sides, front and back. Note that the roadplates and trees are not included in this set, although it is a nice addition to the set. As for all the Tiny Turbos sets, the box can be used as a storage for your Thunder Racer, thus making it convenient for transport, without having it to be taken apart. Having this set examined and tested, I come to the following conclusion: The box is fitted into the Racers theme, and can be used for storing your Thunder Racer. The instructions show you well how to build the Thunder Racer, making it easy to build, so recommended for beginners. The stickers are fitting nicely on this vehicle, I personally like the green flow added to the black racecar. The final product is the Thunder Racer itself. With the fast-looking design and extra-wide tires, the vehicle has it all for a good run on the Speedway. As for the fun of this set, it is not that special. However LEGO offers us enough expansions to this racecar set, adding to the fun of building and playing. Rating Design: 9 Quality: 8 Fun: 6 Price: 8

    LEGOs in the '90s

It may be nostalgia or a complete new look of LEGO to you, but I speak for most when I say LEGO literally had its heyday in the (early and mid) 1990s. The Pirates theme saw its breakthrough in the LEGO world, LEGO Space became more diverse (Ice Planet 2002, Spyrius, Exploriens, Space Police II and more) and prices for those sets back in the '90s were cheaper compared to nowadays (but we had a different economic market back then). Thanks to my dad we still preserved many LEGO catalogs from the '70s and '90s (he wasn't active with LEGO in the '80s ), and I've scanned one of those catalogs to show you the awesomeness of what is known as '90s LEGO. If you are a '90s kid and loved LEGO back then, you will certainly remember some of the sets that are shown in this catalog. But '90s LEGO is also loved by non '90s kids, don't worry. The LEGO sets back then certainly have this nice look and design. Without any further ado, here are all the scanned pages from a European LEGO System 1993 catalog (too bad I can't put two pages next to each other). Do you have any of the sets shown in this catalog?

    LEGOs in the '90s

    >LEGOs Anyway, I think you might want to clarify just what part of the 90s you're talking about, as the general consensus from the LEGO community is that things were going great until the late 90s when the sets became very juniorized. I do love the style they had going in the late 80s/early 90s though, it was clean, refined, and stylistic. How Would Lego Characters Look Like If They Where Real.

Here's a few more pictures that I found on deviantART, if anyone's still interested in this old-but-recently-bumped topic: Pepper Roni from LEGO Island Intergalactic Girl from LEGO Minifigures Series 6 Cam Attaway from Alpha Team Ice Planet 2002 astronaut Blacktron astronaut Alpha Team character sketches Cam and Radia from Alpha Team Time Cruisers characters + Lord Sam Sinister from Orient Expedition I, myself, have tried my hand at human-ifying some classic LEGO characters... though, keep in mind that these are all sketches and doodles and not meant to be finished works of art, like some of the above examples. The Black Hole Gang from Space Police (technically aliens and not humans, but I digress) Evil Ogel from Alpha Team Skeleton Drone from Alpha Team Space Villain from LEGO Minifigures Series 3 Baron von Barron and Slyboots from Adventurers Johnny Thunder and Lord Sinister from Orient Expedition Johnny Thunder from Adventurers Bob from LEGO Universe Lord Sam Sinister from Orient Expedition (in a Jhonen Vasquez style) Lord Garmadon from Ninjago Baron Typhonus from LEGO Universe (in a Tim Burton style) Enjoy!

    Solution to discoloration

NOTE: All that will follow is a/one of the solution/solutions to the discoloration of white LEGO bricks. Please read careful, I cannot be held responsible for any mistakes you make with the process of whitening the bricks. Only use this method for whitening WHITE bricks, not other colors, nor white bricks with printings or stickers! The information that follows is partially based on personal experience. You may know them: discolored white bricks. I recently discovered this method to get the white color of those bricks back. To show you what I'm talking about, see the images in the spoiler. Each brick is lit equally, the discoloration is real. The left blick is the discolored one, the right brick can be the result of this method. In order to retrieve the white color of these discolored bricks, you can do the following. For this method you'll need: Hydrogen peroxide (preferred concentration is about 3%) Distilled water (to thin the hydrogen peroxide, if concentration is too high) Glass jar with lid (or other material which the hydrogen peroxide won't affect) Discolored white bricks The principle of this method is based on a redox reaction, just a little point of information. Be careful, hydrogen peroxide (abbreviated to hp) is corrosive (at 3% concentration not very corrosive)! You do not need a very high concentration for this method, a 3% concentration is fine for whitening the bricks. You might also want to buy distilled water, to thin the hp (distilled water is rather preferred for thinning than tap water). Distilled water is not only for thinning, but also for spending as little hp for the whitening proces, for it is not very cheap. You'll need the glass jar to put the solution (hydrogen peroxide mixed with distilled water) in. For thinning, it depends on the concentration of the hp. It also depends on how much hp you are willing to use for each whitening. Use the following formula to calculate how much distilled water is necessary to get a certain concentration: volume distilled water necessary = ((former concentration hp * volume added hp) / new concentration) - volume added hp For example; you have a hp concentration of 30%, and you'd like to thin this concentration with distilled water to 3%. You use 50mL of hp, and for this thinning you need: volume distilled water necessary = ((30% * 50mL) / 3%) - 50mL = 450mL distilled water Now to add the bricks. The substance is not corrosive towards the bricks. Let's say we use the solution explained in the example (50mL hp mixed with 450mL distilled water). Pour this solution (carefully) into the jar. Then, add the white discolored bricks to the solution (make sure the bricks are submerged once). Put the glass jar on a window-sill, or anywhere else where light can lit the bricks. Leave the bricks in the solution for about 3 to 7 days (personal experience). After the process of whitening, clean the bricks with water (and soap). Do not throw away the solution, it can be used a second time for whitening other discolored bricks (not sure about a third time use). Below follows an image of the effective effect of this method. Again, the bricks are both lit equally (left is before, right is after). This information pretty much summarizes all that I liked to tell. I hope I explained you well how to work with the solution, and the whole method of whitening discolored white bricks.

  16. Thank you for welcoming me to the forums. I honestly suggest sticking to the Rock Raider type of gameplay, but expanding it's creative and exploration capabilities. I've heard it wont be "Lego" which I believe is a good idea, but in order for it to be a game people would play and enjoy for a long period of time you have to make it unique in it's own way without making it complicated. Think of a age of empires type game, base on creation and exploration rather then war and exploration. Then you add hazards, monsters., and maybe even a way to interact with other players on a local or global scale. Having randomized levels that stretch infinitely is a brilliant idea, but you need a way of incorporating these maps to allow for a multiplayer experience or a single player experience. people tend to enjoy the creativity of minecraft and enjoy the adventure and organization of Rock Raiders , finding a middle point is key to great success. I am very anxious for what may be pull off from this, but believe I could be of great assistance to story or gameplay ideas. If interested in my assistance let me know, otherwise those or my opinions. Thanks:) Puffdragon23@hotmail dot com

    Hello!

Sorry to say, until LEGO decides to release these classic games online, all download copies are classed as illegal (I hope they do someday). By Ebay I meant a real physical copy. I'll just provide a link here instead of a PM: http://www.ebay.com/itm/PC-Lego-Racer-/321075873241 . Not saying you HAVE to buy it, that's your choice, but it's nicer to have real copy of these games.

How To Install LEGOLAND on a 64-bit Computer

Even if it does though, the SETUP.EXE files are 32-bit in those games. Here, it's a 16-bit EXE. As in, you could theoretically launch it in Windows 3.1 (though it will just gripe at you and say it doesn't support it). With LEGO Racers and LOCO, it will just say "Error Code: 21" when you launch it Windows 3.1, which means it's 32-bit and doesn't know what to do with it. 64-bit versions of Windows dropped all support for 16-bit EXEs though, and thus it refuses to launch under every circumstance, no matter what compatibility mode or workaround you try. As such, LEGOLAND will not install natively without this modification. This game isn't alone either, a LOT of old games have this problem. The older Humongous games have a unique situation where their EXEs are 16-bit, but they do nothing except launch another EXE in disguise as a different extension (the W32 file) -- but they had every reason, they were able to run on Windows 3.1!

    Out The Back Door

Alright, this is the second map of a series of three custom maps I did awhile back that I finally got around to posting. Briefing: We've found an area that contains a massive cache of energy crystals, but we also detect a large (and growing) lava source. We need you to build up a supply of energy crystals, then warp in some vehicles and dig your way to the energy crystal cache to the north. But beware raider, if our detectors are correct, you will be dealing with fast erosion, so get in, and then find a way to transport a supply of at least 100 energy crystals out as fast as possible. Good luck! 1. Locate atleast one Recharge Seam 2. Collect 100 Energy Crystals (Or more if you so choose) Download (2.3 FINAL): RRU Download Mediafire Big thanks to Cirevam for doing a playthrough of this map (1.8): And another big thanks to Lair, who also did a video playthrough of this map (2.3): http://www.youtube.c...3A&feature=plcp

    Twists N' Turns

Alright, this is one of a series of three custom maps I did awhile back that I finally got around to posting. Briefing: During a Mining Expedition, we located a cavern rich in energy crystals, we set up a power station, docks, and several mining lasers. We sent two of our raiders downstream to see if there were any more large deposits of energy crystals, but while searching they caused a cave-in and cut off the water to our base. At first we thought nothing of it, but a few days later, a flood of water burst through a bunch of solid rock behind our base. (That just goes to show you the power of erosion, it can break through SOLID ROCK). Get down there and set up a base, then locate our docks and mining lasers, after doing this continue the operation by collecting 200 energy crystals! 1. Locate the Base 2. Collect 200 Energy Crystals (Or more if you so choose) WARNING: SPOILER, don't read this until you've located the base! Download Link (2.2): http://www.mediafire.com/?t157qmps2m0a2t3 Also! I've made a massive overhaul of this map, due to it being a nightmare to reconstruct it using the original, so I started from scratch and made some major changes, I recommend playing this one instead if you want maximum enjoyment: http://www.rockraide...2892#entry72892
