How To Install LEGOLAND on a 64-bit Computer

As most of you may know, LEGOLAND is one of those annoying games that is perfectly 32-bit in every regard, except for its installer -- it's 16-bit, which basically means it's impossible to run on a 64-bit computer, regardless of what you try. For the longest time, most people believed the only way to solve this was by installing it from one computer and copying the files to another, but you lose the registry values in the process. I thought about writing an alternate installer, but I can't figure out how to extract any of the files manually. Thanks to the guys at ReactOS though, I found a simple way of doing it. First, you must copy all of the files from your disc to the hard drive. Now download this file. Extract and place it in the directory where you copied all the game files to, and launch via it. It's basically a 32-bit version of the InstallShield V3 setup program. Install as you typically would, and the game should be good to go! Word of advice though, this is also one of those that ignores the default installation directory and just puts it into C:Program Files instead of C:Program Files (x86), so you may want to fix that. I don't know if that's a quirk with you, but it is for me. Enjoy the game!

Using Win 7, 32-bit, AMD. It doesn't let me type a response when it asks if I am using XP.

I remember you but the real question is do you remember me?

  7. I finished the third comic. Maybe I will use another fine liner to make some of the letters more readable (although it's perfectly readable, if you use the "show graphics" option, after right clicking it) and scan the comic again. PS: I added a color-version, too. Probably I will do the following comics in a similar way.

What Is Better Power Miners Or Rock Raiders ?

Yeah, fun times. We actually had a pretty good discussion of the good and bad differences between the two themes in that topic. Much different than the criticism in Fun's revival here.

    LEGO The Simpsons?

We weren't discussing the same thing?Unfortunately, I got some BTR sets as gifts back in 2003-04, and they're very different from Kre-O (and not in a good way). All the pieces were massive bulky chunks that often snapped apart at the slightest touch as if they were spring-loaded, and instead of minifigures they included ugly action figures with very stiff, squeaky joints and studs slapped on. Kre-O at least has minifigure-scale "Kreons" (though they still look ugly IMO) and has more piece-by-piece building. Still doesn't compare to LEGO though, but it does stand far ahead of the utter crud that was BTR. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Built_to_Rule http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kre-O

    The Rock Raiders 7 Log

Back in 2008, I found myself feeling nostalgic for Rock Raiders. Therefore, I installed LEGO Rock Raiders onto my Windows Vista laptop and started anew. However, this time, I also decided to document my playthrough through what I called the Rock Raiders Vista Log, which you can read over the course of the BZPower Official Rock Raiders Topic starting here. However, as Steam and LEGO Universe entered my life, it became difficult to finish my Rock Raiders playthrough. As some of you may know from me joining Rock Raiders United, I have now installed LEGO Rock Raiders onto my Windows 7, and with a quick file transfer, I was able to continue where I left off. What was the logical solution? I decided to continue the Rock Raiders Vista Log... as the Rock Raiders 7 Log. A lot of this might seem redundant to a community established around Rock Raiders, but some of you might find this interesting, so I figured that I might as well post the Rock Raiders 7 Log here. These entries tend to be quite long, so I put them in spoiler boxes for the convenience of those who don't want to do a lot of scrolling. Day 16: 10/29/12 Day 17: 11/3/12 Day 18: 11/11/12 Day 19: 12/20/12 It's been fun, guys. I'm just so glad that, at long last, I have finally accomplished my goal of completing LEGO Rock Raiders.
