People, I am stunned. You took my masterpiece... Legos in Space... You called it a joke. I poured my heart and soul into that game, and what did you do? You trampled all over it. Right then and there, I vowed to make a sequel. Something so amazing that nobody could call it a joke. And now... It's here. http://www.majhost.com/gallery/jamesster/Other/LOLSUBFOLDER/LIS2/thegame_2013-04-01_10-59-54-38.png http://www.majhost.com/gallery/jamesster/Other/LOLSUBFOLDER/LIS2/thegame_2013-04-01_11-00-12-60.png http://www.majhost.com/gallery/jamesster/Other/LOLSUBFOLDER/LIS2/thegame_2013-04-01_11-00-33-73.png Go on. LEGO.jam File Extractor
LEGOPerry reacted to JrMasterModelBuilder for a topic
With some help from the file format information jamesster found on Xentax I have made a JAM extractor. For the amount of information it has to process, it's rather fast, but it will hang there for a bit as it processes all the files (so have patience). Without further ado, here it is: JAM Extractor Latest Downloads (RRU): Windows 32-bit Windows 64-bit Mac 64-bit Latest Downloads (Github): Windows 32-bit Windows 64-bit Mac 64-bit Other Links: All Downloads GitHub Repository Extract your download to find the main "JAMExtractor" executable (all files are required, do not separate them or it will not work). Usage You can run it by the command line or, on Windows, simply drag-and-drop the LEGO.JAM file onto the main executable and wait for it to finish creating a folder next to the original file. To recompile, simply drop a folder onto the main executable and it will create a JAM file. >If you have the 1999 version of the game, it is unnecessary to rebuild a JAM archive. It is possible to have the program also print the files being processed as the program runs if you add an "--verbose" to the arguments. >Still need a GUI? Check out this topic. Important Notes The LJAM file format does not allow file or folder names to contain more than 12 characters. As of version 1.0.2, the program will skip over file and folder whose names are longer than 12 characters. Thus, any files and folders you create within the JAM archive's folders that have names longer than 12 characters will automatically be excluded when creating a new JAM archive. Older versions would only use the first 12 characters of the name as the file name and would include them. Alternately, you can use the source code from the GitHub repository with a Python interpreter. As of version 1.0.2, JAM Extractor is compatible with Python 2.7 and newer, older versions are compatible with 3.0 and newer.1 point -
LEGO Racers map revamp
Rock Monster reacted to RobExplorien for a topic
LEGO Racers map revamping This topic actually turned into a whole map retexturing project. I'm going to retexture all track maps (which are shown in the lower right corner in-race). For now, some has been done already on this personal project, but most still has to be retextured. As soon as I have all tracks revamped, I will upload the small texture mod and make it PatchIt compatible (which makes it better than having to add each .bmp to its designated track map manually). Old releases: Current release: Fixing cut-off track (v1.0): It has annoyed me since I first noticed it, and never thought of fixing this, until now. The maps of three tracks appear cut-off at a certain spot. Now you might think: "Why are you making such a big deal out of this!?". I'm kind of a perfectionist. It may not contribute at all, but it is just something that I thought had to be fixed. Thanks to the ripped textures, that made me able to adjust the maps. The adjustments may not be very noticeable, but it looks better compared to the old map in my opinion. To spare you the editing of the maps, I've added the edited files in a .zip and can be downloaded here: Map revamp v1.0 When extracting the .zip, you'll find three maps, each containing one adjusted map. Copy (or cut) each IGD_MAP.bmp to the corresponding RACEC*R* file in the .JAM archive, then recompile and add the .JAM to wherever it has to go in order to play LEGO Racers with the adjusted maps. Images of the adjusted maps; left is old, right is new. New features on maps (v2.0): It's here, all new in colour! This map revamp mod includes retextured maps for all tracks. This mainly includes colouring the map to match with the track colour, but shortcuts are added as well. Don't forget the bonus feature, and I think that some already know what it is. It was fun to make, but it is more important to me that you enjoy the new maps. Feedback is appreciated, as it may help me improve the maps even more. Even I still doubt if some tracks look finished or good, but for the time being, enjoy this release. I've added an image to give you a preview of the map revamp mod, picturing Rocket Racer Run and Dark Forest Dash. This version is outdated, and is merged with v2.0.1, so download link to the map revamp mod can be found under that section. Issue fix (v2.0.1): Not much difference compared to v2.0. le717 informed me about an issue where the fast install with PatchIt! of the map revamp mod wasn't working correctly, and he had to install all separate .BMP files manually. I fixed that, and it should work now on the easy installing way. Also, I did minor pixel edits on a few tracks. Barely noticeable, but merely serving for the detail. In order to play with the map revamp mod, you have to download the file below and install it into your LEGO.JAM. It is PatchIt! v.1.0.3 compatible as well, but manually installing it or using PatchIt! is up to you. Link to the file for the map revamp mod: Map revamp v2.0.1 Extra map:1 point -
Legos in Space To: Atack of the Flours
Quisoves Potoo reacted to Arthuriel for a topic
Legos in Space To: Atack of the Flours - Review Today we're looking again at a game from the famous game developer jamesster, who is well known for his deep and tought provoking games like the precursor "Legos in Space", which deconstruted and redefined a whole genre and showed us, how a game should tell us a story. The first thing, which you will notice is the simple grey option menu, but beware! This is only a trick to let the audience believe, that it is badly progammed abomination of game, which it is of course not! After that you will notice, which genius jamesster had to be to develop a level selection menu like this. It's simple and beautiful, but also mind challenging, because it shows us with its references to other movie franchises, how mass production of media overfloods our society with low quality entertainment. If you thought, that this was all, you were wrong. As it is normal for a mastermind of his class, he used also the best soundstracks of our era to create a mood, which combines seriousness with the rise of insanity and chaos. I was so overwhelmed by the experience of the simplicity and beauty of these design decisions, that my eyes produced tears and my ears blood. The Game, the Gameplay and the Ingame graphics: Now I will give a short summary about the story (because even thousands of well chosen words couldn't describe the plot and all the characters in all his depth and beauty): It's even better then the first game of the series. Never before I've seen a story, which challenged the generic-minifigurekind-in-space-scenario that much like in this game. It's tells us in a completely different way, why minifigures have choosen this development and how they behave and interact in this environment. Stunned by this single fact, a gamer couldn't handle much more (which would lead to exploding heads). Knowing this fact, jamesster used controls, which everybody can handle. According to his philosophy, entertainment quality for the masses can only be raised by an efficiently programmed and easy controllable game with an epic story. In his eyes this will lead to a high speed distribution of the game and high quality entertainment for everyone as predicted by him. The game is for sell since some hours ago and the signs already show us, that he is right again. The graphic itself looks simple, but beautiful at the same time. That prooves, that the main focus of jamessters games isn't the generic graphic-benchmark, but games with a soul, a real story and lots of fun. As a summary can be said, that this is probably one of the best games in history. The only games, which could challenge "Legos in Space To. Atack of the Flours" are other games from jamesster. Score: Numbers and even words can't express the ingenuity of this game and the mastemind behind it.1 point -

This... This is a masterpiece. An absolute work of art. I apologise on behalf of the entire community for all the criticism laid upon the games you have created - this is just beautiful. The graphics? Stunning. The gameplay? Fantastic. The story? Engaging and thrilling to the end. To use such a powerful musical score, too, really created the perfect atmosphere. This is the epitome of PC gaming. If I were to find something - anything, even as small as this - to give as constructive criticism, it would be that the the top left star in the space texture is a little too bright. But that is all.1 point -

Greetings, and welcome to Rock Raiders United. I have an idea about why your saves aren't working. I think you may have copied the save image files rather than the level save files. They are stored separately. But for now there is something you can do as a quick fix. You can unlock all of the levels by right-clicking the shortcut you use to launch the game, going to Properties, then adding the following to the end of the Target field, past the quotes: -testlevels Getting 100% isn't everyone's cup of tea and it's impossible without modding, but this will at least let you skip the boring beginning levels.1 point -

This is a forum about Lego stuff particularly games(which Galidor has BTW) and Lego made it a Lego theme so why should it? Because saying Galidor is LEGO is like saying personal pizzas from Subway are Italian cooking. :P1 point
