    Scrapped Zones And More

Oh man, you guys aren't gonna believe this stuff... Tom and I talked quite a bit via email today, and Bill Benecke (the concept artist guy) got involved too. They're really great guys, both very friendly, and were happily surprised to hear the game has fans. Here's the rundown. So, I initially emailed Tom and briefed him on the game/theme's status as a well-loved classic in the LEGO community, our progress in modding it, and the various finds regarding LEGO Logic and such, and basically asked if he had any info he could add to this. Boy, did he ever! So yeah, my jaw dropped. I sent an email back, thanking him for the details, and also linking him to this and this as examples of what fans have done with the theme. He loved them, and added that he's gonna try to dig up some more LEGO Logic and Alpha Team development stuff sometime. He also had an amusing little anecdote to share: He also mentioned where some of the other developers are at now, and what their current projects are: He then forwarded my email to Bill, who added the following: And Bill's email reminded Tom of more specific details of LEGO Logic, and then things started really coming together: And finally: I'm so darn happy right now.

DDI looking for help for Rock Raiders 2 (Rock Raiders inspired title)

We have been impressed and encouraged with the dedication of our Rock Raiders fans, and after years of requests we are looking at creating a new Rock Raiders. We are considering combining a mine craft style world, so you can build and dig in more ways, please tell us what you think?

    1:8 scale LMS Explorer

This is my latest creation. It has some flaws (e.g. the engines), but it was sometimes very hard to find the right pieces etc. Otherwise I chose this scale, because it was a challenge to build a smaller version which contains lot of details too. pieces: ~5000 to ~5300 bricks (depending on the version) building time: hmm, maybe 30 to 50 hours scale: not exactly 1:8 but very close to it (~1:8,25) (compared to my 1:1 scale version of the LMS Explorer, which is 975 studs long) construction program: LDD (but I have converted the model into ldr (MLCAD) and lcd (LeoCAD) files, too) dimensions: Length: 116 studs/ 91,36 cm/ 35,97 in. Width: 17 studs/ 13,49 cm/ 5,31 in. Height: 16 studs/ 12,70 cm/ 5,00 in. Picture (made in bluerender): Rotation Video (made with the bluerender rotation mode): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jI5mtplVLlk Older Render Pictures:

Both topics should be visible in the Modding Tutorials section.

    Collection

Error: LEGO Collection overflow. Seems that more people own these massive LEGO game collections, more than I thought.

I'll have a look for it, wait a moment... The Normal Spider: Spider { Levels 1 RouteSpeed 0.5 TrackDist 10.0 AlertRadius 40.0 CrossLand TRUE CollRadius 5.0 CollHeight 4.0 PickSphere 14.0 RubbleCoef 0.4 RandomMove TRUE DontShowDamage TRUE ScaredByBigBangs TRUE } You have to replace the code of the Spider with that one. Also, you have to go to these lines about 1945: (under the ObjectNames { ... }): delete the ";" in front of Spider <Translation_of_Spider_in_installed_language> about 1995: (under the ObjectTheNames { ... }): delete the ";" in front of Spider The_Spider about 2055: (under RockMonsterTypes { ... }): delete the ";" in front of Spider CreaturesSpider The Scorpion Scorpion { Levels 1 RouteSpeed 0.8 TrackDist 10.0 CollRadius 4.0 CollHeight 2.0 RandomMove TRUE PickSphere 10.0 AlertRadius 40.0 CrossLand TRUE DontShowDamage TRUE DontShowOnRadar TRUE RubbleCoef 0.6 ScaredByBigBangs TRUE CanBeShotAt FALSE } Also replace with the original text. Then go to these lines about 1949, 1999 and 2059 and delete the ";" in front of the scorpionish entries (they look similar to the ones written for the Spider) The Snake Snake { Levels 1 RouteSpeed 0.5 TrackDist 10.0 CollRadius 3.0 RandomMove TRUE CollHeight 2.0 PickSphere 10.0 AlertRadius 40.0 CrossLand TRUE DontShowDamage TRUE DontShowOnRadar TRUE RubbleCoef 0.5 ScaredByBigBangs TRUE } Replace with original text, go to following lines about 1948, 1998 and 2058 and also delete the ";" in front of the entries written for the snake. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ Now you can either use the spider/scorpion/snake as custom objects in new levels/edited levels or you go to the Level Section and replace e.g. RockMonster as EmergeCreature with Spider/Scorpion/Snake If you have problems or if errors occur please let me know

I'm not too sure about the activating process of those 3 animals. I never dealt with those but I know that if you want to get them back into the game, they won't come up randomly in the levels like normal spiders ect. You would have to create or edit levels and 'place' them somewhere as custom objects or you would have to replace them with emerging creatures like Rock Monster...

    Adding new textures?

If grappiegovert doesn't want to, I'd be happy to, assuming I can get it to work.

    1:16 scale LMS Explorer

This, which took four days between three separate renders. A transparancy removed max quaility with bevels render, a complete almost max quality without bevels render, and a basic monochrome render to layer the other two layers together. Max settings with transparency takes so long that three separate renders, with the transparency in a lower quaility goes faster, and looks just as good. However, it was on my old PC, which rendered 55% slower than my current PC. EDIT: RRU, I bring to you... THE RESULTS OF TEAMWORK:
