Insane Raiders [2022-12-29: Occasional updates are still happening!]
Starrocks923 and 2 others reacted to Arthuriel for a topic
Update (2022-12-29): I don't know how often I will use this forum, but I just wanted to write that once in a while I still make Insane Raiders themed comics. They are simpler (more like a sketch) and without colour, but they are still full of dubious decisions related to dynamite and landslides! Since I posted those only in Discord chat rooms etc. so far (where they can go under) I wanted to put them in one place and so I added them to my existing Insane Raiders gallery on DeviantArt. I hope you enjoy them! https://www.deviantart.com/arthuriel/gallery/50994783/insane-raiders Note: It can take a few seconds to load all the comics (depending on your internet connection). Hi, this is a thread, where I will try to continue a comic series every or every second week (note: replace week with month(s)). Usually they are based on my experiences with the Rock Raider PC game and the behavior of the Rock Raiders (including a good portion of insanity and exaggaration). Number 1. Dynamite Number 2. Pathfinding Number 3. Reinforcement is for Losers Number 4. The Pain of Pictures Show Number 5. Badly needed professions and items Number 6. Job oppurtunities Number 7. Secrets Number 8. An unnormal day Number 9. Randompunk-Raiders Number 10. Alternative Ending Number 11. Mindless in space Number 12. Traffic Number 13. Lazor-Madness Number 14. Lazor-Madness II Number 15. The Dark Side of the Vector Number 16. Meet the Bandit Number 17. Dynamite-Madness Number 18. The Ultimate Punishment Number 19. Ore Wars Number 20. Announcements3 points -

Cargo Cruiser
ShadowDraikana reacted to Lair for a topic
Honestly, would you get into a Cargo Carrier? There's really nothing between you and the water that's full of Rock Fish or Ice Monsters or that strange Water Monster Cirevam is making (wad help us if there are river slugs). The old Rock Raiders were kind of cheap like that. That's why the crew of the United has created the Cargo Cruiser, a new and improved carrying catamaran. It still does the basic function of transporting your Rock Raiders, vehicles, tools, and materials, across rivers, lakes, and whatever other bodies of water there may be. However, it's more safe now. Notice the walls? Unless it sails into rapids (and that's what the Rapid Rider is for; this thing should only be going through safe waters to well-established bases; otherwise, get a Tunnel Transport), your vehicles probably aren't going to roll out of the cargo bay. A nice little chain is included to secure it down just in case - plus, Raiders not as used to the sea can hold on to it for comfort (note to self: install barf bags). Contains 211 pieces. Left side Right side Rear (in-game you would not see the motor or bottoms of the pontoons as they would be underwater) A weird close-up Carrying - top Carrying - rear Folder Download!1 point -

The truth about Papa
Lair reacted to le717 for a topic
Once day on LEGO Island, Nick Brick was out on his regular patrol. As he passed through the pizzeria, he remembered he had not eaten since the night before (and Nick gets very mean when he has not eaten). So, he ordered a pizza from Papa, took him for his word that it smelled really good, and sat down at the table to eat. Just as Nick was about to take his first bite, a giant mod suddenly came out from nowhere, making lots of noise, lots of "ARE YOU READY TO LE" and "SQWACK!" being shouted everywhere, Return and Enter dropping people, and Pollywanna eating Ol' Pup Dog. All this racket was driving Nick up a wall, since he cannot cope well when the Brickster is insulting him, much less all this. Meanwhile, Papa was in the kitchen making pizzas as fast as he could, thinking he might be able to calm down this crowd with food. He looked out the window, and saw Nick, terrified, clinging to the umbrella. Walking over, Papa begins to sing the Italian Opera It'll Be Alright to Nick. This threw Nick into even more chaos, and he ran away in terror. A few hours later, once everyone was gone, Papa glanced out the window at the table. There, attached to the umbrella, was Nick's arm. He had been holding onto the umbrella so tight that when he fled, his arm popped off rather them him letting go. As Papa looked upon this scene, he sighed and thought to himself "I never knew pizza could make Nick act that way."1 point -

1:1 scale L.M.S. Explorer (+ldraw/studio 2.0 file downloads) - 2021-10-21: "Oh hey, this thread is 10 years old and still going!"
Lair reacted to Arthuriel for a topic
Here is a picture, where you can see the inside. I hope, that it's okay. In the first post of this thread I've added also another note: In the intro video you can see two different evalators (I came to this conclusion, after I've built (but not finished) a LMS Explorer model on the Minecraftserver from Phoenyx or CTXXXTC, which also had the hangar room). Therefore the evalator on this picture is based on the second evalator of the intro video (because you can see more details of it, but maybe the evalators on the LMS Explorer look almost the same).1 point -

Several things to say to this. 1. The Explorer only started using Energy Crystals as fuel after it's accident, as they were the only accessible fuel source in the area. What it used for fuel beforehand is not stated 2. I don't believe that, in-universe, energy crystals are supposed to be made of plastic. They're called "crystals," I would assume that they are some kind of mineral. 3. Following the above, if everything in the LEGO universe is technically plastic, then, well, everything is plastic. People, food, vehicles. They still behave as though they weren't, so the point is moot. 4. The Explorer doesn't run on the crystals themselves, but uses the energy stored inside them. It is shown very clearly in-game that that energy crystals are 'drained,' after they are used to power something the crystal remains, devoid of energy. It is even shown in the ending, inside the explorer, the energy crystals are drained to produce a sort of liquid fuel. They can even be recharged afterward. It's most likely this green liquid that is combusted, it probably works the same as gasoline. Or perhaps the Explorer is a Hybrid and can run on electricity too? Either way, I think that Motor Ship is the most likely meaning. 1. What Lair said. 2 & 3: I was mocking LEGO physics, actually. They drive me crazy to no end. 4. Yes, I know it uses the energy inside the crystals. I'm not sure how it does it, though. I always interpreted the glowing green thing in the endgame clip as some scifi cool looking rendition of the energy, not as liquid crystal. For one thing, Legoland showed us that the presence of the crystals in some kind of boxlike device was enough to power the vehicle. I took that to mean that the energy crystals produce a constant rate of energy. As long as you use under that rate of production, you'll have power (that's why the base doesn't run out of power if you just let it sit around). But if you overdraw, like in firing a laser or a slug absorbing a crystal's energy, then the crystal is drained. The overdraw upsets whatever magical processes are occuring inside the crystal. That's how I think energy crystals work, and I assumed (and still do) the explorer powers itself via energy crystals in much the same way. But if that is some sort of fuel extracted from the crystals for combustion, then I guess it is a motor ship.1 point -

If it's not "Mining", the only valid term I'll accept is "Masochistic". The amount of times they run into landslides, lava, Monsters, explosives and everything else with the potential to kill them...1 point -
