    Skype Libs!

So. I was bored. It was late. I went to my bookshelf. I found some old "Mad Libs" books. That is when the idea was born!! I thought "Hmm. These books were fun. Let's make them MORE fun. Let's ask friends on Skype to fill in the words. Let's make these stories even better! And so, Skype Libs! was created. I took one of the stories from one of the many books I have. I asked people from RRU for certain types of words that I needed. The words are in brackets [ ]. Here is the outcome: WARNING: YOU MAY EXPERIENCE SEVERAL WTF'S WHILE READING THESE STORIES. #1) EAT, DRINK, AND BE SICK An inspector from the Department of Health and [bANANA] Services paid a visit to our [FUNKY] school cafeteria. The lunch special, prepared by our [PENSIVE] dietitian, was spaghetti and [MCJOBLESS]-balls with a choice of either a [ZEUS] salad or french [WEENIES]. The inspector found the meat-[PIANOES] to be overcooked and discovered a live [uNITY3D] in the fries, causing him to have a [WENIS] ache. In response, he threw up all over his [PALM TREES]. In his report, the inspector [WATERBOARDINGLY] recommended that the school cafeteria serve only nutritious [POWER MINERS] as well as low-calorie [MEDICS], and that all of the saturated [FORUM TROLLS] be eliminated. He rated the cafeteria an [F] minus. Tune in tomorrow for a new Skype Libs! story!

I started messing around with some of the .PAR files in the Particles folder. Here are some screenshots: Here, I swapped PIZZA_TRAIL.PAR with SUPE_TRAIL.PAR and PIZZA_EXPLODE.PAR with GOTHEART.PAR Here, I swapped HATCHANGE.PAR with GOTCARD.PAR So far, there haven't been any crashes. However, some of the particles may be invisible or not work the right way depending on what the particle was originally used for (For example, I originally swapped PIZZA_TRAIL.PAR with GOTBRICK.PAR. When I launched the game, the particles just floated around me instead of going behind the pizza.) I have messed around with some other particles too, but the results weren't as cool as what is shown in the screenshots. I also swapped PH_BBQ_SMOKE.PAR (I think that was what the .PAR file was called) with BIG_LAVABOT.PAR (I forgot what this particle was exactly called too). There was so much smoke coming from the grill at Pepper's house that I could see it from the construction yard!

Insane Raiders [2022-12-29: Occasional updates are still happening!]

Update (2022-12-29): I don't know how often I will use this forum, but I just wanted to write that once in a while I still make Insane Raiders themed comics. They are simpler (more like a sketch) and without colour, but they are still full of dubious decisions related to dynamite and landslides! Since I posted those only in Discord chat rooms etc. so far (where they can go under) I wanted to put them in one place and so I added them to my existing Insane Raiders gallery on DeviantArt. I hope you enjoy them! https://www.deviantart.com/arthuriel/gallery/50994783/insane-raiders Note: It can take a few seconds to load all the comics (depending on your internet connection). Hi, this is a thread, where I will try to continue a comic series every or every second week (note: replace week with month(s)). Usually they are based on my experiences with the Rock Raider PC game and the behavior of the Rock Raiders (including a good portion of insanity and exaggaration). Number 1. Dynamite Number 2. Pathfinding Number 3. Reinforcement is for Losers Number 4. The Pain of Pictures Show Number 5. Badly needed professions and items Number 6. Job oppurtunities Number 7. Secrets Number 8. An unnormal day Number 9. Randompunk-Raiders Number 10. Alternative Ending Number 11. Mindless in space Number 12. Traffic Number 13. Lazor-Madness Number 14. Lazor-Madness II Number 15. The Dark Side of the Vector Number 16. Meet the Bandit Number 17. Dynamite-Madness Number 18. The Ultimate Punishment Number 19. Ore Wars Number 20. Announcements

My First Sprite EVAR! (Help Wanted)

If you haven't already seen it, here is Derpfig, literally my first sprite ever created. Ok. Ok. Hold the applause. ... Ok. It's bad. So I am here to ask if anyone would care to give me lessons in pixel art/ sprite designing sprites is something I've always wanted to do, but I suck at drawing. If anyone would like to help me, if you have Skype, we could set up something there perhaps? Anyways, yeah.

The Secret Developer Cave in LEGO Island 2

I recorded a video of it as the other ones on Youtube are bad quality from what I have seen, this one interacts with all the devs and is recorded with fraps. For those who have yet to see it, here you go! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1PhXMimIlvg Also, this marks the first time I have completed LI2 100%!

  7. "The Rock Raiders finally became intelligent!" Or a modder turned off all the landslides and made raiders invincible. I wonder what the Chief would think if he found out that there are higher orders of being that can manipulate the LEGO universes... He'd probably head straight for the pain screwdrivers.

My First Sprite EVAR! (Help Wanted)

Starting from scratch is very good, but it takes some skill. Considering that this is your first sprite and you don't consider yourself an artist, it's not bad, but you need a lot of practice. Using a base or other art, although not good for final pieces, is a good way to learn. I used the images Fushigisaur showed to make a proper base for you. http://i.imgur.com/ZYnobYy.png You can use this to practice basic shading of clothing and hair. Don't only use this base though, it takes longer but using a larger base (say, 40x40 or 70x70) can give great practice on the details as Fushigisaur has already mentioned. Although you don't have to know what you are planning to make your art for, if you do, you'll have a goal. Goals are the momentum to keep you going when your art is junk (which it will be sometimes), when you are too lazy to put in the time that this can take (which you will be sometime or another), and it usually means you will end with something nice. Happily for you, this was my first sprite. Your first sprite is much better than mine was, and I have come a long way from that, so you too can undoubtedly get better. I made this years ago, when I was quite young, so it will still take quite some work for you to get good. And if you need any specific help, you can PM me. I'm not sure if I'm willing to tutor you thoroughly, but I can give you advice or a tip whenever you need one, and I could link you to some very good tutorials. Edit: When you make more, post them here. I'd love to see them.

  14. Hmm, yeah... ...the bonnet looks "Interesting" (a.k.a. "Aaargh!") I wonder, why they haven't choosen the original bonnet. Was the big superflat roof brick too expensive or too special? *imagines, how my project as a "final" model would look* *shudders a bit* PS: Some people on bricksfanatics (and on the model page on cuusoo, too) are complaining, too.
