Hello. Hi. Now that that's over with, might I ask how experienced you are in this sort of stuff? You can't make a game out of the blue. It takes time and effort, and you have to know what you're doing. For starters, the title. We already have a actual LEGO Island 3 that you mentioned in your blog. You know, Island Xtreme Stunts. Third LEGO Island game, files still call it LI3. Plus that horrible fangame that is also called Lego Island 3 (note the lack of proper capitalization). This aside, LEGO Island 4 would not work either, as you do not own LEGO Island. Your game would not be an actual fourth installment in the franchise. It would be a fan game, and does not deserve to have such a misleading title. Speaking of not owning it. In the comments of your blog you said that, unlike that OTHER fan game, this would cost $36.00. Terrible pricing aside, you can not do this. You do not own the LEGO Island franchise, or LEGO. You do not have a license with LEGO to produce this for a profit. If you did, you would no be 12, you would not be doing this alone. Simply put, you can not do this for a profit, as you are using the LEGO brand without permission. The other fan game was non-profit because that is all that you are allowed to do. Try making money off of that thing, and LEGO will be on you like studs on a brick. Not developing the franchise is not the same thing as not having copyright - the Island series may not be trademarked any more, but the LEGO logo sure is. Besides, a CD-ROM? This isn't 2002. If you want this to be as big and fantastic as the LEGO Island games (the third of which barely fit on the disc), you're going to need a bigger medium than that. I mean, you predict this will take eleven years to make - it better be good. And, since this will be non-profit, good luck buying enough CDs/DVDs. And er, going by your story outline Not to sound rude (I probably will anyway), but your age sort of shows a bit. You may want to get your programming done first and let your story grow and change for a few months or years, so that you will have had time to sort it out better and not use memes in it. Besides, That certainly isn't a difficult achievement. Anyway, welcome to RRU. Now that I've written my longest intro reply ever, I need sleep. Edit: We can click on your user name. We know how to get to your profile.3 points

LEGO Racers - Pepper Roni Texture Pack (LIXS)
Zed and one other reacted to Fifi La Fume for a topic
Wow, the hats in LR cover up just about as much face as they do in real life! DID YOU KNOW?: Driving ain't like skateboarding! Contains all expressions, and includes an optional Xtreme Stunts helmet. Download: https://ore.rockraidersunited.org/legacy/LR_LIXSPEPP_860678.zip This pack is LQ (64x64) to match the rest of the game. However, I may do an HQ version using my own textures! Instructions: Drop in your LEGO Racers root directory (If you are running JAM-less), and enjoy! Special thanks: Silicon Dreams (Used their IXS textures, but slightly edited them and made them match the LR palette) LEGO Digital Designer (Used their Pepper face texture, edited for other expressions too) Cyrem (For his IXS texture dump)2 points -

Running LEGO Island Xtreme Stunts without a Disc
FeebTube reacted to Cyrem for a topic
Got my copy of Island Xtreme Stunts today I made this. Running LEGO Island Xtreme Stunts without a Disc is quite simple actually. By default the game keeps all it's data on the game disc. So doing this will make it run without the disc. However you will need the disc to copy data from. 1. On the disc, copy the folders titled 'cd' and 'cdc'. You'll find these in the "LIXS" folder on the disc. 2. Paste these folders in the directory you installed the game to. 3. Create a shortcut to 'Game.exe'. This is the LEGO Island Xtreme Stunts executable. 4. Open the properties of the shortcut and change the target to: "C:\Program Files\LEGO Interactive\Island Xtreme Stunts\Game.exe" "C:\Program Files\LEGO Interactive\Island Xtreme Stunts\cd\" "C:\Program Files\LEGO Interactive\Island Xtreme Stunts\cdc\" Of course you will need to adjust this to the location on your computer. But the basic format is <Game exe path> <cd folder path> <cdc folder path>. You'll have to make sure you write ou the full path like above because when I tried a relative path the game just froze. And that's it. Enjoy.1 point -
Open the Lego Island 2 Music
Brickulator reacted to SchollExpos for a topic
Introduction Five years ago I wondered, how I could open these strange music files that Lego Island 2 uses. Now I found the solution: How To: Download the Direct Music Producer from http://www.mediafire.com/download/1jdfoi2ratd4kls/DX81MusicProducer.exe here. Install and start it Click on "File" -> "New" Then you'll have a new Project. Click "File" -> "Insert Files Into Project". Now you have to find the Music Files. They are stored in the "_datasoundsDirectMusic" folder. Then you open the folder with the files you want. In this Folder, you first select and open the .dls File. Then import all .sty files on the same way as the .dls file. <-- Important! ALL .sty files in that folder. After this you can import the .sgt file Then Select the sgp file on the left and click on "Play". Enjoy! A explaining YT-Video: http://youtu.be/10AvZ_EDfNE My Favorite theme is "dance". That's the cool dance theme I hope this tutorial was helpful1 point -

The point is, you do not own the rights. Whoever developed LI's sequels got the go-ahead from LEGO regardless of whether they created the series or not, they still own the rights. If you were to make a game based on someone else's IP and SELL IT, that is called copyright infringement and is very, very illegal. Don't do that.1 point -

LDD Multiplayer VS Mode.
Fush reacted to Alcom Isst for a topic
So I started pondering how I might squeeze a multiplayer competitive experience out of LDD, and ended up with this amusing result. A turn based vs Mode in which 2 players each build a creation of a specific theme under various constraints. Rules used here: Each player starts off with a minifigure and a seat as positioned. With alternating turns, each player places a single brick to build their creation within the constraints of a theme and possibly additional rules. When a player places a brick, the other player is no longer able to use that specific brick. After 98 turns, where each creation is 50 pieces (minus the minifigure in this case), the game ends. Victor is determined based on peer judging The video replay was just me rapidly undoing the model while recording, and reversing the result. LDD File: Here. Images:1 point -

Really liked it, sums the game up and most of its problems really well. I think this will be the video I'm pointing people to when I see how much they let nostalgia let them say how "amazing" this game is.1 point -
Eye of the Sage
STUDZ reacted to LockmanCapulet for a topic
I posted this on the old forum, posting it here too. By me, based on Eye of the Oracle by Bryan Davis. Word document attached. Can’t let them break through… Shaka thought. Ever since the seal of the Sages was set, the dragon had been assigned as guard of the temple. Not only did it house the entrance to the Sacred Realm, but even more importantly, to the Deku Tree, a tree whose fruit had the power to give eternal life on the earth. These two attacking women violated the code of the Sages, so Shaka had permission to kill them. She swooped in and spat a fireball at them. It missed as the women, who apparently were Gerudo, rolled in opposite directions. One of the women, Kotake, pulled a seed from a pouch. “Give me darkness!†she cried as she threw it onto the ground. A ball of black smoke enveloped the two women. Koume suddenly found it hard to breathe, but she held her ground. Kotake grabbed Koume’s arm and dragged her away. When they reached a cave, they crawled inside. Kotake started a fire and soon was using it to cook up a potion. “This will not be easy…†she muttered. “Without any Deku Nuts, it will be harder to gain immortality. I have already taken one step towards it by gaining the power of Agahnim. This power has allowed me to see into the future at what might happen.†“What might happen?†Koume questioned. “Yes. Life is the ultimate game of chance, with millions of possibilities. I know the results of every choice that could be made and the results of the subsequent choices, and so on.†Kotake stirred the potion she had been brewing and added a drop of purple liquid to the mix. “We must prepare ourselves to carry the seed that my master will plant.†She crushed the root that she was stirring the potion with and added it to the mixture. Then in a low voice she sang: O Phantom of the midnight skies, The king of darkness, bane of light, The time has come to plant your seed, So give us now the gift of flight. Kotake took a long drink of the potion and handed the cup to Koume. “Drink it,†Kotake ordered, “or you won’t be able to survive the upcoming flood.†Koume smelled the potion. So tempting…her throat suddenly became extremely dry. She had to drink. She had to! Koume took a sip of the potion, gagged, and threw the cup against the cave wall. “That was terrible!†she yelled. “Now I am going to turn into something disgusting, aren’t I?†“Do not question the power of Agahnim!†Kotake barked. “Things are going according to plan. Yeshua has done exactly what I knew he would do. It is only a matter of time before we act out our next move…†As Shaka flew over the field, she saw the two Gerudo women leave a cave and walk toward the canyon village. They didn’t look back. * * * Agahnim glided toward the temple. He entered and walked to the sword-bearing Farorite guarding the Gate of the Tree. He spoke in his former voice to the guard. “You are relieved. Hand me that sword and return to the heavens.†The angel responded, “You have the wings of a Nayrite. I was commanded to be stationed here by the archangel Din. Only she or Yeshua himself may command me otherwise.†Angry at this Farorite’s incompetence, Agahnim shot a beam of darkness from his eyes. The dark sludge spread over the Farorite’s body as Agahnim rammed him through the gate into the tree trunk. The sword flew from the angel’s hand and was driven through a branch of the tree. The two of them continued wrestling until a loud voice sounded from a nearby cloud. “Leave this sacred place, you demon! Go back to that fire pit from which you came!†Suddenly, Din flew out from nowhere and slammed into Agahnim. She drew her own sword and ignited its beam. Another flaming sword? How? Agahnim thought. He leapt toward the branch that the Farorite’s sword was embedded in and pulled the blade out. He tried to activate the beam, but the sword would not even spark. Din chuckled to herself and said, “Yes, there are two swords with the power of fire. The one you bear is much more powerful, although its power will not work in the hands of an impure bearer.†She swung the blade’s beam into the air, creating a golden translucent shield around the tree as the Farorite shoved Agahnim out of the Sacred Realm, back into the Temple of Time. Suddenly, the gate to the Sacred Realm shone so bright that Agahnim couldn’t look at it. Din’s voice boomed from inside. “The Sacred Realm must never be accessed by any non-divine being. It will now be taken to the heavens, along with the Deku Tree.†When the light died down, all that Agahnim could see was an empty chamber. Annoyed, he warped out using his dark power. The Farorite flew out of the Temple and called to the dragon, “Shaka! Come!†She glided down to where he stood. “You are relieved of your post,†the angel explained. “There is nothing left to guard. The Tree has been moved to Heaven for safekeeping.†“They’re all gone?†Koume asked. “Yes. Now is our chance.†Kotake dashed to the temple with Koume close behind. They entered the temple and walked to the broken gate. They glanced through to the back chamber and saw where the sword had been driven into a pedestal in the center of the room by the Farorite guard. “That’s…that’s…†Koume marveled at the blade. “The Master Sword.†Kotake said. She walked forward and grasped the blade’s handle. After yanking it from the pedestal, she noticed a large nut on the floor. She picked it up and examined it closely. “A…a Deku Fruit!†She wanted so much to eat it, to be given eternal life, but she knew that she couldn’t for her plan to work. She set the nut on the floor and used the sword to slice it cleanly in half. She reached down and lifted both halves, tossing one to Koume. “Pluck the seeds, but don’t eat the fruit. Toss the seeds back to me.†Koume plucked the seeds from her half and examined them in her palm. “They look like that yellow gem in the sword!†“…Hm, you’re right. Give me the seeds.†Kotake took them from Koume’s outstretched hand. “These are the seeds of corruption, and those who control the corrupting influence control the corrupted.†chapter 1.doc1 point -
