I think that people are pretty interested in my project, so I thought that I would share some of my progress as I work towards my ultimate goal. So far I've created the Chrome Crusher, the Tunnel Transport, the Power Station, the Support Station, and I am nearly done with the Super Teleport. I'd like to give a huge thanks to JimbobJeffers for creating the instructions that I've been using for the buildings and of course to everyone here for being so supportive of this long and arduous process. For the record, I am using Solidworks 2013 to create each individual brick and then putting those bricks together in assemblies. It started as an exercise to maintain software proficiency but turned into an opportunity to digitally recreate some of my favorite kits using components not offered in conventional Lego CAD software. As an intro, I thought that you'd all like a quick glimpse of my construction process. I've compiled this GIF as an idea of how I put these together. I'll update this again when I get further along. It would be incredibly useful, and it would save a lot of time since we wouldn't have to keep moving files and starting the game to get an eye on what the map will look like. But from what I can tell so far, your tool uses the bottom-left corner of each tile as the height point, but it seems like LRR uses the top-left. I noticed inconsistencies between how some of my levels looked in your tool so I wanted to bring that up, and it seems to make sense as LRR uses the top-left corner of each map as the origin, with +x being east and +y being south.

Since the penthouse is now CIrevam's, i'm installing a new level below addict's secret test lab. I think thats the lowest floor? yeah, i'll be there.

Okay, I'll give you two that much. Those bricks will be very useful, but the rest isn't even worth our time. I can't complain about more teal.

Update (2015-07-31): I checked the blog entry again and it turns out, that some links work and some don't (which proves, that some stuff stays around forever while other things aren't even available after like two years). I will mark the links (with a big X or something else), that don't work anymore and try to find replacements, although I doubt in some cases, that those exist (like the lego universe links, but luckily I saved the files in those cases). Another question: Should I make an actual forum topic out of this? Maybe more people will check out this information via that way (which reminds me, that RRU needs a good detailed wiki again, which also includes stuff out of forum threads, but that would be quite an amount of work to do). LMS Explorer by kris220b year of construction: unclear (long gone now according to kris220b, which could mean anything since the first version of LDD till maybe 2008 or 2009) In one comment under a youtube video (link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MKX-ZHYb09I ) this user claimed to have build the LMS Explorer in LDD on an old laptop, but sadly the save is long gone now. 2. LMS Explorer scaled to human size in Minecraft by Arthuriel year of construction: 2012 Basicly I started to build the LMS Explorer on the server from CTXXTC, but one day the server wasn't available anymore and therefore the ship is left unfinished. Note: There are probably more MOCs etc. from the LMS Explorer out there, that I don't know of, because the users keep them privately and don't make them public. One counter argument to this could be, that in most cases a user would make a LMS Explorer model public, because... ...well... it's TEH LMS EXPLORER and if you question it, Chief will hit ya in da face . Okay, jokes beside. It's just my theory and therefore it's unknown, how many MOCs are out there, but this list is a small attempt to archivate them I hope, that there will be more versions of the LMS Explorer in the future, which will look even more awesome.

Fortunately, years ago, I took a screenshot for just such an occasion: And wonderfully written rant, McStudz. It perfectly sums up my feelings towards both the younger demographic of The Simpsons and the declining quality of the show over the years. Saying that The Simpsons is an ideal LEGO product because it's a show that kids enjoy is like saying that South Park or Call of Duty would be ideal LEGO licenses as well. Yes, kids watch South Park and play Call of Duty, but that doesn't say anything about their appropriateness as a potential LEGO product, because those kids aren't the target audience. Kids aren't the target audience of The Simpsons, either. And I know LEGO has licensed PG-13 films such as Pirates of the Caribbean and Lord of the Rings, but those are all a completely different genre from The Simpsons - they are all "fantasy/historical action adventures", which has always been something that translates well to LEGO products. Some things are just better off being left to the MOCers, in my opinion. Want to make MOCs based on this show? Go right ahead! But LEGO licensing it, and seeing these products take up toystore shelf space... ah, well, listen to me, a crummy old-fashioned LEGO fan. Sounds like the future of LEGO Simpsons depends on the success of the first wave. As much as I hate to admit it, that younger demographic does probably overlap considerably with LEGO's demographic, meaning these sets probably will be successful, allowing LEGO to milk this license for years to come...
