This is a simple modding tool for LEGO Racers which makes the process of inserting custom skin textures into the game easier. Using the GUI which is designed to look like the in-game character builder, you can scroll through all the textured body parts in the game (note that some parts don't have textures, but are defined separately in the binary files), select your desired part, and import a custom texture. The application then gives it the correct name and places it in the correct folders on your desktop, structured as an extracted LEGO.JAM file for ease. I made this tool as I discovered that the process of naming textures became laborious, as I had to frequently check my parts list and in some cases decipher which textures matched which character. The Character Skinner is therefore intended to aid this process, and is aimed at both beginner and advanced modders. I would like to give a huge thanks to le717 for helping me on the Python side of the tool, having never used Python before you really helped me. And thank you for your support along the way, despite my frequent nonsensical outbursts whenever I hit an error. Note: There are two keyboard shortcuts to make modification through the app faster. Pressing the Enter key performs the same function as clicking the 'Modify Texture' button, and the arrow keys can be used as an alternative to the on-screen arrow keys. Download Character Skinner v1.1 Character Skinner v1.0 Requirements - 24MB hard disk space - Windows operating system - The latest versions of Adobe Flash Player and Adobe AIR Installation Simply extract the .ZIP file and place it anywhere you have read/write permissions. For administrators this includes Program Files; for limited users this is restricted to folders such as My Documents and Desktop. IMPORTANT: Everything inside the Character Skinner folder must stay as-is, any changes to names or folder positions will crash the program. If you wish to hide the folder, just create a shortcut to the Character Skinner.exe file in the root directory. Note: This cannot currently be done, I will patch it in v1.2. Ha! a friend sent me a sample where the infomaniac was used...I am sincerely am honored..Why? because I wrote, designed and was the creative director of LEGO Island and designed the infomanic- many people and the staff said he looks like you...I didn't intend that but well....The product started in 1995 and realeased in 1997.the software abd development was pretty antiqye compared what was it was capable of doing then...but all and all- cool for seeing this...I gotta tell you- it was quite a maze to figure out how to register and I hope one can read this...Cheers all.

Hello all, you may or may not remember me, but I have been thinking for a long time now about coming back to this site I remember when I did stupid things like spam topics,dumb child content, really bad grammar and spelling,and of course weather reports. But that will be no more, I promise for real I learned from my mistakes. So my goal is to have a new fresh start here by starting over, If some one would be so kind to give me advice on how I could improve even more I would be gladly appreciated. Any ways I want to start fresh with a new overhaul since I had no clue what I was really doing in the first place when I started with overhaul making and modding.Now that I am much better at modding and making levels I should be able to do a lot better now,but I still don't know how to do animations or modelling that is to advance for me. So now I must apologize,for all the hell I putted you through I'm very sorry. Last I'm also going to spend most of my time now talking about rock raiders ,modding it,and getting help with the modding as that is what this site is mainly about, why talk about your favorite TV show or brony stuff etc. Ps If a mod would delete or at least lock my old spam topics I would be gladly appreciated. Guess I'm going to dampen the spirit a little... I'm still not totally convinced. Granted, the animation and visual style has had a LOT more thought put into it than I predicted, what with not only the stop-motion-esque movements, but also the lighting and camera focus. Everyone's going crazy over Johnny Thunder, and I'm also quite happy that he'll get at least a cameo, but having been a fan of the Transformers films in the past, I've gotten used to awesome characters being announced for the movie, only to sit in the background or have one throw-away line. I may be sounding like an old Grandpa now, but I specifically didn't like the choice of characters they showed off in the trailer. Far too many of them were either very recent or licensed figures, I mean, why have a Ninja Turtle in the movie when his theme has existed for about a year, and may not go much further? It'd be like releasing the movie ten years ago and having Winnie the Pooh appear. I know that people are going to go, "Well they had the spaceman and Johnny Thunder!" - you can see my comment above on Johnny Thunder, and I think the spaceman is becoming too much of a fallback for LEGO when they want a nostalgic character. Why not have Redbeard, a Space Policeman or Royal King as well? That said, I appreciate the "battle damage" they gave him. I also really hope that character introduction sequence isn't in the movie - it's good for a trailer, but I wouldn't want to sit though it in the middle of the narrative!

Man, that is so annoying

From beta screenshots we know Jet used to be the Rock Raider you would use instead of the generic Pilot (in fact that's probably why it's called Pilot), and two of her textures still exist in the game. There's also an image containing low-res textures of all five class raiders, so that and the commented-out names of the different raider classes that line up with trained skills is good evidence that trained raiders would either change their models or you would teleport down specialized raiders. The only thing we can do with multiple raiders is change their skins, basic stats like running speed and drill times, and their animations. You can only teleport in one class of raider at a time and it's always the first one that appears in the CFG. The only reason to use extra raider classes is as a limited resource that should be better than the standard ones you can teleport in endlessly.
